We recently purchased the Rowenta IB-6200 ironing board after looking at many different models and brands. We felt it offered the features we really wanted for the best price.
It is heavy, has a generous oversized ironing surface, extremely stable (does not rock back and forth), has a wide footprint, wide adjustable height range, acceptably quiet when adjusting height, a very sturdy hot iron holder and a well-made cover.
The purchase transaction with Amazon was flawless. The board was shipped fast and arrived in excellent condition.

In a household with two cats it is often impossible to keep them off high elevated surfaces... especially if it is an item that only makes an occasional appearance. Thankfully, this ironing board is not only a workhorse but can also reluctantly double as a vault horse for the little ones. Of course we never leave a hot iron unattended, but it is much more challenging to do so with an unwieldy ironing table. It would be nice if it were lighter but it's hard to imagine how it can maintain that level of stability without the mass.Customer Review: Great investment

Between this ironing board and the Black & Decker D2030 Auto-Off Digital Advantage Iron my ironing time has been cut in half. This is a good sturdy tall ironing board. I just love the fact it's taller than regular ironing boards. It also opens and closes very easy. I got mine at a local store w/ the 20% coupon so that helped w/ the price. But if you're like me and have a lot of ironing to do you'll soon discover it's worth every penny. It was a very wise investment and it will outlast me :)

I bought a display model of this ironing board three years ago, and I adore it.
As a sewist, I spend a lot of time pressing fabric. The larger surface area of this board has made this a simpler and quicker process. This ironing board is also taller and more stable than others. The area to set the iron and hang hangers is also a plus.
The only downside is that the bulk of this board makes ironing shirts difficult. I still need a regular ironing board to iron dress shirts.

I was very pleased with the rowenta ironing board that I purchased through Amazon.com. I had read some negative reviews about this product, and I'm happy to say that none of them were true. First of all the ironing board is very stable and well made. It's a joy to have such a solid base to iron from. The board is not very heavy and I am a petite, small boned, middle-aged woman. The board is extremely easy to fold just by pressing on a button/lever. It's a joy to use such a well-made tool.
