Customer Review: Excellent value; going +3 years of use

I purchased this vacuum over 3 years ago in August 2007 and I am just now (January 2011) writing this review. I purchased it for $49.99. Motor still runs like the first day. I use it on hardwood floors and carpeting.
PROS:
-HEPA filter
-Compact
-Powerful
-Price
-Filters are inexpensive ( i just bought a 3M brand filter for $10; lasts around 6 months)
-Replacement parts are cheap and easily found online
-Simple design
CONS:
-Loud but no different than your average vacuum
-Wheels can be loud on hard flooring since the wheels are hard plastic
-Plastic parts can break but easily replaced
EXPERIENCE:
Only two issues came up over the past 3-4 years of use. The plastic button that releases the canister broke and the plastic wand holder on the side of the vacuum broke. Both parts I purchased for a few dollars from dirtdevil.com and replaced myself in a matter of minutes. I consider these issues wear and tear items.
The canister, wand, brush head, extension tube, and canister lid I have hand washed in the kitchen sink.
CONCLUSION:
Excellent value. You would be hard pressed to find a better HEPA filter vacuum. Highly recommended.
