Tools and Hardware Reviews of Rust-Oleum 241140 Dry Erase Brush-On Kit, White

Customer Review: I now have an awesome wall.
Summary: 5 Stars

I decided to turn one of the walls in my bedroom into a dry erase surface, and so bought two cans of this stuff. I did three coats, let it dry between each coat, and then waited a week to draw on it.

The surface is perfect! What little ghosting occasionally shows up easily wipes off with a damp rag. I've used several brands of dry-erase markers, some the nicer Expo ones and some cheap ones I got as swag. They've all been fine, and now I have a huge surface for brainstorming when I wake up with an idea in the middle of the night. The wall has been up for almost two months now, and it's great.

The moral of all these reviews seems to be:

1. Make sure your product hasn't expired.
2. Use a good *latex* primer (not the magnetic stuff also available from the manufacturer).
3. Apply multiple coats and be sure to allow for adequate drying time.

Customer Review: GREAT IDEA...AWSOME STUFF

WELL FOLKS LIKE OTHER REVIEWS SAY YES ITS RUNNY BUT SULUTION DON'T SOAK SPONGE BRUSH,ROLLER ETC AND GIVE AREA ABOUT 4 COATS AND THIS DRY ERASE PRODUCT IS AWSOME ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT ALOT OF PEOPLE TRY TO USE A DRY ERASER AND THINK ITS GOING TO DISAPIER SORRY BUT I HAD A DRY ERASE BOARD THAT YOU HAD TO RUN DRY ERASER OVER AND OVER AGAIN SO MARKER COULD TOTALLY ERASE BUT WITH THIS WE USUALLY USE A WET CLOTH OR BABYWIPES AND IT COMES RIGHT OFF DRY ERASER DOES IT TO YOU JUST GOTTA GO OVER AND OVER WITH IT.WELL HOPE THIS HELPS YOU THANX AND HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY -O- AND LIKE EVERYBODY ELSES KIDS MY KIDS LOVE IT AND SO DO I IT KEEPS ME FROM PAINTING OVER WALLS AFTER THEY GO MARKER CRAZY ON THE WALLS.

Customer Review: save on dry erase board
Summary: 5 Stars

the cost of a large (5'x7')dry erase was more than we could afford. this product made the project very affordable.

Customer Review: Great Item - Fun possibilities
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased this item some months ago and I love it.

Not only did I 'whiteboard' a bunch of smaller interesting surfaces but I covered my entire interior front door. Now my fiance and I leave each other messages for when the other comes in or goes out, notes to self, to do lists, and greetings to our friends - who come and go from our house a lot when we're not available. We live in a 3 floor townhouse so being able to leave a note that I'm in the garage means people no longer stop by and sit in the living room waiting for someone to come around.

The only issue with a whiteboard made with this stuff is that is doesn't come TOTALLY clean all the time. Some markers interact with it badly. I find that regular EXPO dry erase work best - low odor or EXPO2 leave marks. Other reviewers had this problem as well...but I have a secret! ***Kaboom Shower, Tub & Tile Cleaner, 22 Oz gets it COMPLETELY clean.***
It hasn't seemed to compromise the integrity of the surface yet, but I am still on the watch. Kaboom tends to eat away at certain materials and I don't feel confident that that definitely isn't happening at all, so use at your own risk.

All in all, good product - GREAT IDEA!

Customer Review: Love this product
Summary: 4 Stars

Love this product. I took the suggestions and us the right roller and I use a Foam brush for cutting in. Yes it was a little running at first you just need to adjust how much paint you put on the prush or roller to keep it from dripping. After a few times of doing it you get used to how the product works and before you are done with the first coat you are a pro. I put 4 coats on the top half of my daughter wall in in bedroom above the chair rail. It work fababous. She is a teenager and is just loving this. I would highly recomend this. I painted it on Monday night and did not let her right on it until late Wedneday night and it worked great and I just used a dry dark wash cloth to wrip the black dry erase marker we used and it came right off.
