I was looking for a great mop to use in my house. I had a regular sponge mop that drove me crazy because it's so stif and it wasn't big enough for to clean my whole house. It took me about more than 30 minutes mopping my floors and the only areas I have to mop is the 2 bathrooms, livingroom, dining, kitchen and hallway. I decided to order this mop because of it's reviews and rating. I couldn't believe that such a great mop like everyone was saying it is was only $12. I tried the Swiffer Wet Jet and I hate it! I returned that to the store. So, then I saw this one, Sh-Mop, and decided to give a try since it had such great rating. So, I got it today in the mail and I just couldn't wait one week or so to try it to see what the big deal was all about. So, I took it out the box and decided to try it today. Let me just say that I hated mopping, and today was the fastest, easiet mopping day It took me less than 10 mins to clean my floors!!!!!! I was so excited!! This mop is bigger than the average mop and it's the best thing ever made!!! Now, I look forward to mopping every week. Before I used to mop once every 2 weeks because I hated mopping, but now, I'm going to mop once a week. I LOVE my Sh-Mop! I will NEVER go back to traditional mops. This is the best thing ever invented and I want to thank the guy who made this mop! I can't wait to tell my friends about the mop so they can get one too! Now, that I know it's an awesome mop, I will buy the additional Sh-wipes. I'm so excited!! Thank you everyone who had rated this product, because if it wasn't for your reviews and ratings, I would have never tried this mop. I can say I'm no longer a slave to mopping. Just before Christmas 2007, I was desperate to find a way to get my large tile kitchen floor clean without dreading the job. I did a lot of internet research and settled on the Hoover Flair to first vacuum up all the dirt.
But then I had to find a way to mop it. The last thing I wanted was to have to go to Wal-Mart to buy chemical-filled refills of some product. I just wanted to use a mop and water. Goodness, on a scale of 1-10, the Sh-Mop is about a 50. I absolutely LOVE it. I simply put hot water and a little Simple Green in a clean bowl in the sink, put in the cloth, wring it out, place it on the Sh-Mop, and off I go. It fits under the fridge and every protruding ledge. As soon as it gets a little dirty, I throw it in the washing machine and grab the next cloth. It takes about 5 to do my large kitchen floor. No more rinsing a dirty mop in dirty water and hoping to get your dirty floor clean. You are constantly applying a fresh, clean cloth and the floor really shows it.
The thing I like best is that if you clean your house for a party, and after the party the floor is already starting to look dirty again, you just grab that Sh-Mop and 3 minutes later you have a clean floor again. It's so EASY! You can just use plain hot water! BUT, it does help to vacuum first to get up the particles of dirt, and for that I strongly recommend the Hoover Flair. These two are perfect when used in combination with each other.
The bottom line is this: 6 months ago I DREADED washing my kitchen floor. I haven't dreaded it since using the Flair and the Sh-Mop. Not at all.

I hate doing floors! It seems that I'm the only one who'll do them though, since my wife died - I started with the "sponge mop", but the water got dirty and I have Rheumatoid Arthritis so wringing got a little hard on the old hands - I also did the "string mop" I hated that - just moving dirt from one place to another - the mop would take too long to dry so lots of times it would mildew and I'd be replacing too often, not to mention that the mop would be dirty before you know it!
This is fantastic - not only for my kitchen floor, but hardwoods as well! I do the kitchen with water on the mop first - the mop is so effective sometimes I do it a few times a week with water alone - then once a week with a little soap - the mop itself is very light weight, no water weight to speak of, and the head does a bit of swiveling making harder to reach places easier and where the mop ends so goes the cleaning, I mean often with the sponge there is an inch or two of space making corners and "edging" difficult - much less so with the Sh-mop. I actually enjoy mopping because of it's ease in use - I'm still working on the first towel - I've cleaned it a few times by hand, and it's about time to throw it in the laundry. I don't really know what makes this so much better, but it is, and that's all there is to that! My daughter "dissed" me when I bought this, saying that it would be a waste of money - she's eating those words now! A great buy!Sh-Mop Hardsurface Floor Mop

I have used the Sh-Mop for years now. I clean houses every day and I clean a small hair salon once a week.
I load up spray bottles with various cleaning agents, my favorites are white vinegar and water or ammonia and water.
I vacuum the floor, spray it evenly with the cleaner of choice, work my way into the area using a forward/backward stroke, then work my way back out using a side-to-side stroke.
On wood floors I always do the final passes with the grain of the wood.
On tile floors I use 2 mop covers together to create a deep cleaning pad that really gets the grout wiped out.
In tiled showers I use the scrubbing pad on the Sh-Mop and my cleaner of choice, then slip on a cover or 2 and shine it all up, walls and floors alike.
At the hair salon I vacuum, then use ammonia/water with a FloorMate, then use the Sh-Mop to dry the floor.
I have used the Sh-Mop and Murphy's oil soap mixed with water in a spray bottle to clean wood paneling (walls), I have also used the Sh-Mop to apply polish to wood paneling.
I have used the Sh-Mop to clean windows, both inside and out with a mix of white vinegar and water, again applied with a spray bottle.
I keep a supply of a couple of dozen mop covers and I don't use bleach when I wash them, I think it would break down the elastic around the edge.
Now all I have to do is find my favorite spray bottles (Zep, long trigger pull) :~)

Sh-Mop makes a fine hard surface floor mop that lets you clean, clean, clean those dirty floors as easy as pie! The mop can use either a cotton or terrycloth fabric cover on the bottom of it so that you can clean laminate floors and tile. Another reviewer notes that for them this mop could clean hardwood floors, too. It can help you clean your car or SUV; and it can be used on walls. However, I cannot comment on cleaning walls because I never used this mop to wash walls.
The green plastic mop is lightweight and easy to carry. The length is such that you can easily dunk the mop into a bucket of water to rinse out at least most of the dirt from the cotton or terrycloth before you clean the next area of the floor you're cleaning. You shouldn't have to reach down to the end of the mop to wring out the cloth.
Here's a suggestion: Rinse the cotton or terrycloth towel for this mop once in clean water before using it on the floor or whatever surface you're cleaning. This helps get any particles of dust and anything else out of the cloth so that when you start cleaning the mop is as clean as can be for your job. The mop is made in such a way that it gently but firmly scrubs the surface you're cleaning as well. Yes!
Other reviewers suggest that you buy some extra cotton cloth covers for this mop at the time you buy the mop. I think that's a good idea.
I recommend this Sh-Mop if you need a mop for any hard surface flooring.
