I worked for a home cleaning company for a while and we used the Shi-mop and that's why I purchased it. I like the fact that it is more like washing the floor by hand but I don't have to get on my hands and knees to do it. I do occasionally need to get into the corners by hand. I buy several of the cotton covers and then when several of them get dirty I just wash them in the machine. They are made of cotton, so I like to hang them to dry. I usually have a bucket of water with some kind of a floor cleaning detergent and rinse the cover several times as I go along. Another way is to spray a cleaner on the floor and mop with a damp cover and then just change with a clean cover each time it gets dirty so that you don't need to get your hands in the water. You can also use the Shi-mop to clean laminate floors with the special floor cleaner. Just squirt the cleaner on the floor and mop the floor with a damp cover. It can be used on wood floors the same way.
I really love this kind of mop. I give it a four-star rating because I don't like to rinse out the cover with my hands, but like I said above, that can be eliminated by using several covers. I highly recommend this mop.

I only researched this online before I bought it to use on my new hardwood floors. My husband was afraid that the vacuum would scratch them. I didn't purchase additional covers because the shipping cost was already high (shipping doubles the cost). I'm glad, as I find I'm not using the mop as often as I thought. It may be good for open spaces, but with lots of furniture to go around, it's simply easier to just vacuum--I can reach smaller spaces with the crevice tool. Also, after purchasing I have found several local alternatives (O-Cedar, Quickie, Rubbermaid) that look like they would work just as well for half the price(not paying shipping). The only difference I see is that these use a synthetic dust-cover; the Sh-Mop's is cotton. I can live with that. I think that the replacement covers for these mops will also fit the Sh-Mop. So yes, it's a good product; just evaluate how you'll be using it before you buy. I would definitely not spend $24 for it again for my use.Customer Review: nothing extraordinary just OK. This mop is just fine for the price. I do not see anything outstanding about it like how other reviews had. The shipping costs were on the higher side as I also bought an additional mop cover with it. The packaging in my case was not up to the mark too although the product arrived on time. I feel I should have got one from the stores that are available just like this one, for a much lesser price.
The mop is easier to maneuver around covering much area while moping easily but I believe one could find the same features in other mops. I suggest looking at the mops outside for a lesser price and almost the same features before you sure want to invest in this one.
