Customer Review: I LOVE THIS THING!
Summary: 5 Stars

I LOVE MY SWIVEL SWEEPER! I have to say that I was pretty upset after reading all the bad reviews on this thing while waiting for it to arrive. I figured I got a good deal on it so if it didn't work, I didn't lose TOO much money.

As soon as it arrived I plugged in the charger and let the battery charge for atleast 8 hours as recommended in the instructions. I couldn't help but see all the cat hair I had on my carpet (I have a long hair Himalayan who sheds), so I thought I'd test it out after about 9 hours went by. I was a bit concerned when I turned it on thinking, there's no way this is going to get anything out of the carpet! I was wrong, immediately I saw that it does a great job. I was under the impression that it would be pretty quiet, but it's definitely not! Then again, neither are most vacuums anyways. Not only did it get the cat hair off the carpet but it also picked up a lot of other dirt that I could barely see, as well as cat litter around the box! My cat always leaves bits of food on the floor and his food mat, so I also use this to suck it up.

I have now had this sweeper for nearly a year and it still works great! The battery still holds it's charge and nothing is broken. This sweeper is just that, an ELECTRIC sweeper. If you are used to sweeping with a broom, or dust pan, this will replace that and more. Though it will never take place of your vacuum, but it will come pretty close depending on the mess.

The sweeper is very light and can be used in small spaces. I love that it goes under areas my vacuum doesn't. Keep in mind that most infomercials pump up their product to look better than it is. So don't have high hopes, again it WILL NOT replace your vacuum. I do feel that it should be sold for less, for those who are buying it at the full price. I recommend checking out eBay. I got mine for less than $20 (without shipping).

I don't understand why so many people are having trouble with theirs. Perhaps faulty pieces or not charging it properly. Overall, I definitely recommend the Swivel Sweeper. It truly comes in handy!

Customer Review: SERVES A PURPOSE
Summary: 5 Stars

I really enjoy having this handy tool around. I received mine for Christmas and it still works great. The Swivel Sweeper is great for pre- vacuuming, and also for when you need to make your place look presentable in a moments notice. I have an 800 square foot apartment and it takes me approximately 15 minutes to go over all the surfaces, leaving the surface of my floors virtually free of dust, lint, hairs, threads ,crumbs , and other gomies that make your carpets look dirty. Its great to use before vacuuming, as it picks up brush clogging threads and other surface debris so your vacuum can concentrate on the deep dirt.

The Swivel Sweeper works great on most surfaces. I have used it on linoleum, medium pile carpets, area rugs, and dry cement. You can use it almost anywhere you can use a broom or vacuum and its totally cordless. I have to empty the dirt bin approximately three times total when doing my whole apartment. Its totally gratifying to see all that filth end up in the wastebasket. I can clean my whole apartment about 5 times before I simply have to plug it into the recharger. It gets plugged in or emptyied whenever the motor starts to slow.

Its true that the swivel sweeper is mostly made of plastic. While it is made of plastic, I feel that it is fairly durable, and if it is used per manufacturers instruction it should last a long time. There are also explicit instructions on recharging, that need to be followed. It does warn that if you overcharge, you may kill the battery. To remove the hairs and threads from the brushes, I simply pull them out with my hands.(I misplaced the thread cutting tool early on,and have found that simply pulling the debris from the brushes to be quicker and easier.) When the brushes get real dirty, I wipe them clean with a damp sponge, and then carefully dry them.

The pros are: its quick, its agile, its light, its cordless, its inexpensive.
The cons are: dust bin fills up quickly, but its amazing and great to see and eliminate all that surface filth before it gets ground in.

Customer Review: Swivel Sweeper: some product details.
Summary: 5 Stars

This clever little sweeper has 4 rapidly rotating brushes: front and rear plus one on each side. The motor drives the rear brush, and since they are all mechanically linked, they all spin at once. The low profile unit is 9.5 by 5.5 inches and it fits easily under cabinet toe spaces. The bits of material it picks up stay trapped in the tray that is very easy to remove to empty. The kitty hair that gets wrapped around the bristles is easy to pull off by grasping it between thumb and forefinger. (The included seam ripper/stitch cutter tool may speed up that process, but I seldom use it.)

I have been using my Swivel Sweeper for two years and have absolutely no complaints. I think it is one of the very best "As Seen On TV" products.
I charge the 7.2 volt NiMH battery overnight to get about two weeks of
daily use per charge. The "gimble" style swivel attachement to the handle make it a real pleasure to guide around the floor.

As other reviewers have noted, this is not a substitute for a vacuum cleaner, but I have great success using it on our light colored vinyl kitchen floor and on the adjoining family room carpet. I am able to keep up with the fir needles and other debris tracked in by the two kitties (one 15 pound Maine Coon with BIG feet and a very long hair domestic).

I have found this sweeper to be a real improvment over the Hokey manual carpet sweeper I used to use, and I highly recommend it.

*********UPDATE********

August 7, 2010: Recently I thought this original type Swivel Sweeper was starting to fail on me, since it slowed down soon after a battery charge. I ordered a replacement battery, but in the mean time I gave it a thorough cleaning and LUBRICATION. At the plastic ends of all the rotary brush shafts where they are attached to the corner couplings and at the center main power coupling, I sprayed some teflon/silicone "dry" lubricant (several brands available at hardware and home improvement stores). Now the sweeper runs faster and longer after a charge.

Customer Review: Swivel Lover!
Summary: 5 Stars

I love my swivel sweeper! I bought the two pack for $19.99 each plus shipping and handling from the main website which I think was $14.99 total. So overall I had gotten two for around $60. This thing does every thing the company says it does even though I think it's a bit pricy. I am so pleased with it! If you want it made right,go to their website. I've had mine for 3 months and gave the other one to my parents. My dad loves it and has taken over the vacuuming for my mom! My mom loves their old vacuum but she always wanted an upright cordless, now she has one.

When I say this thing does what the company says it will this means I've tried every thing the commercial says and it lives up to the commercial's garantee. This thing even picks up:

*Cat hair
*Kitty litter
*Kitty food (my cats are messy eaters)
*Small pieces of paper
*String (although if it's too long it'll bind up in the gears. It'll switch off automatically at a certain point. Then all you do is pull out the string then turn it on and keep on going.
*Dirt/Dust Bunnies (duh)
*Some different types of cereals (cheerios), etc.
*Food crumbs

You need to clean out the compartment after every two or three rooms because the only downside is it's a small compartment to hold the crap it collects. But it's easy to dump out and snap together and keep on going! My house is 1,000 sq foot so I can wait till I'm done with 90% of the house then clean out the tray. It's very easy to do.

Just do not forget to put it back on the charger for up to 8 hours. I've had mine for 3 months and love it still! My dad loves theirs and he asked his best friend and he said he has his for two years now and still loves it. Also, if you over charge it you'll wear out the battery, I haven't done this yet but I read up on it first before I bought mine. If you use it enough you'll know when it needs to be charged up again. The gears start slowing down to a hault fast.

This isn't a girly vacuum, it's for guys too!

Customer Review: Finally!!! The Product Matches The Commercial!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Having only had the Swivel Sweeper a week, I cannot speak for longevity. However, this little thing does what the commercials say it will and does it well. When my Grand Darlings aged seven and two leave, there are always crumbs and "stuff", on the carpets and floor. Not the kind that requires a good vacuuming (usually) - just a good picking up. The Swivel Sweeper does just that. It also goes from floor to carpet to throw rug and back without a hitch. That is especially good in the bathroom or any room where the rugs are very lightweight - the kind that a regular vacuum will suck up. It picks up every bit of the hair, dust, and debris. However, rug fringe will tangle in the rollers. Just lift it a bit over the fringe and go on. It is very lightweight.

I am especially pleased with its use in the kitchen. It seems nearly impossible to pick up all the sand and grit at the cabinet base and corners. I have always had to go back over that little quarter of an inch with a wet paper towel or dust buster unless I want to mop sand around the floor. At 57, the thrill of that is gone! The Swivel Sweeper does truly get right up to the base and picks up the grit.

The dirt container is small but it is not a hardship to empty . I can usually do my large kitchen and one bath room before having to do so.

This will NOT replace your vacuum cleaner. However, it comes pretty close to replacing your broom. It picks up the stuff you can see on the surface of carpets and rugs. It picks up EVERYTHING apt to fall on vinyl or hardwood or ceramic tile.

Unless it lasts a good year or so, I believe it overpriced at the going rate. I would think $29.00 total would be more appropriate. I paid $38.00 total but it is worth it at this age and with poor health. It is not as quiet as they say but how often MUST you pick up the dust under the baby's bed at naptime?

I am really SO pleased. Thanks, Linda Reynolds
