Customer Review: Excellent alternative to traditional keyed deadbolt

Decided to convert a Schlage key deadbolt to this design based on desire for 1.) sticking with Schlage to be consistnet with keysets in the rest of the house 2.)logic of the design, 3.)ease of installation.
We were very pleased with the product. It is well-constructed, and the key backup plus manual flip feature makes the battery failure problem a non-issue. So, it is a winner on #1 and #2. We decided to call in a professional locksmith with whom we have done much business with over the years to do the installation, though. It took him about 25 minutes, but went fast because he could use the same hole and offsets. He was also happy with the design and construction.
Highly recommended. We will be installing more units in other locations.

I am buying a second lock for the door between my garage and my house. With this lock you no longer have to carry house keys and can't lock yourself out of the house (a frequent problem for one member of our household). You can program in a code anytime you might need to leave a key for someone and then delete it when it is no longer needed. And when you leave a single button allows the knob to engage and lets you lock the door. It couldn't be easier to use, or program, or install. I often find myself a bit irritated by the occasional poor design feature in otherwise good products, but I haven't found even a small irritant with this deadbolt. I would recommend it to anyone that wants to eliminate a key from the lives.Customer Review: Worth every penny

I have had this deadbolt for almost a year now, and I am 100% pleased!! I had locked myself out of my house shortly before I bought it and vowed that will NEVER happen again. :-) I went to my local Home Depot and bought it just because it was a Schlage. Went home and I installed it within about 20-30 minutes. That is HUGE because I am not mechanically inclined.
I gave out codes to my neighbor (along with a key copy...just in case), friends, brother, etc. All different codes. I wrote them down and put it with the instructions in my file cabinet.
I highly recommend this product!!! It's made my life so much easier. No fumbling for keys in the cold or dark.

I have had one of these locks for about 2 years now. I cannot believe it, but the original
batteries are still working strong.
I love to be able to walk out the door without having to carry keys, it is very liberating
and convenient, especially if you have lost or misplaced your keys. You can also program
in a temporary combination to allow friends or workpeople to enter your home.
If I could I would ding 1/2 star because the programming is a bit difficult to understand,
you just have to go through that once.

After years spent fumbling for keys I purchased 2 of these locks, one to go onto a set of french doors going onto a new screen porch and one for the door entering our garage. We couldn't be happier with them. I had a local locksmith change the cylinders to match our house key and installation was a snap. They are easy to program, look terrific and work as advertised. I am particularly please that the keypad lights up at a touch of a button - very helpful in a dark garage, and they lock with a simple twist. The Amazon price is the best I found, the locks came quickly and all in all this has been a great experience
