At first it seemed to reduce the amount of cat feces, but apparently they got used to it and continued their business. I read the reviews and the website, but this product just didn't work for me. I purchased this product to protect the baby birds in my yard. I first bought the 3 lb size & put it on the perimeter of my property. Within the next couple of days my husband & I found THREE half eaten dead baby birds that were taken from their nests by CATS AFTER I HAD APPLIED THIS PRODUCT! I thought that I did not use enough and bought two of the smaller size [bc the 3 lb was Out of Stock]. I applied this product EVERYWHERE! Even where the trespassing cats would climb the trees - and about two days later ANOTHER HALF EATEN BABY BIRD! Then the next day I found a wing and bird leg in my driveway! Cats are the only creatures that do this! If my dog went and ate someone's cat - he would be at the pound to be euthanized as a vicious dog. Cats are NOT part of the ecosystem - they are domesticated by humans - it is not "natural" or "survival of the fittest" when you introduce an invasive species like domestic cats into an area that run free on everyone's property. They should not have free run to kill our songbirds. Within the last five years, the statistics show that our songbird population has declined over 35% - their demise can be DIRECTLY attributed to COMPLETELY irresponsible cat owners and their rotten cats. I want to hear birds singing. I do not want cats coming on my property and killing the birds that are roosting in MY trees and also digging up and defecating in MY garden. Now I know why some people HATE CATS! I never understood it before but cats are a COMPLETE NUISANCE just like cockroaches - and at least cockroaches serve as food for other creatures and don't ruin my garden and steal innocent baby birds right out of their nests and kill them!! If you have a cat - act like an adult, be responsible, neuter them and keep them indoors. I am so sick and tired of being woken up in the middle of the night because of cat fights as well! I am now an official CAT HATER! Cats stay out of my yard or you will be soaked with my hose!Customer Review: Get it from a place that you can return it...

I highly suggest you purchase this from a place that you can return it to when it doesn't work. Their "GUARANTEE" is only for the packets and 20 oz size. Why not for the larger sizes? I asked. "Oh, because we figured someone who wants to use the product would use the smaller size first to see if it would work. Gee, so someone with a large lot or acreage should buy a small bottle and try it? The cats would just use another part of the property....DUHHHHHHH!!!! I'm returning my 2nd bottle (I bought a 20oz specifically for that purpose) I'm out $30+shipping for the 3lb size because they don't "Guarantee" that size! Maybe because they know their product is CRAP!!!!
Oh, and forget trying to mix it with water to spray it. It is just like putting sand in water....

I'd been having trouble with neighborhood cats using unplanted portions of my garden beds as litter boxes. I cleaned the areas up and applied shake away granules (hard to shake out because particles stick together & watch out because the top of the container doesn't fit well and can pop off). Within 2 days the cats were back. I cleaned up my beds & reapplied "Shake Away" granules before going to work, by noon there was a fresh pile. In addition when my cat went outside she sniffed the air and immediately went into the garden bed (where she'd never gone before) and started sniffing around. This product is a is a total waste of $$ and appears to attract cats!
