I absolutely ADORE this sweeper. It was a christmas gift and while I was skeptical at first (it seemed so flimsy), I quickly warmed up to it.
I live in a 1,200 square foot loft. We have a massive hallway, a large open living room, two bedrooms, laundry room, two bathrooms and kitchen. All, save for the bathrooms and kitchen are carpeted. Plus a large rug in the living room.
We have a small chihuahua and a kitten. LOTS of pet hair. My husband has asthma and I vaccuum all the time for his sanity and health.
The shark is wonderful. It charges quietly in my closet and its good to go when I need it. It hold charge long enough to sweep my entire loft several days in a row before needing charged again.
I love the easy to empty compartment!!!! I can start with the compartment completely empty and when I finish the whole place, I know its doing an excellent job because... WOW! The whole compartment will be packed full of dog and cat hair, dog and cat food, kitty litter, scraps of paper, dirt and grass tracked in by my husband and I by the door, any food particles dropped under the table...
Basically, im saying this thing is a BEAST!
I am a 25 year old woman with two jobs and lots of hobbies. I don't always have time to pull out the big vaccuum and change outlets THREE times to vaccuum the whole loft. And godforbid my husband EVER vaccuum. However, we love the shark so much that he never argues if I ask him to give the place a quick once over with it before company!
It chugs through our thick living room rug and even swipes most animal hair and small bits of stuff from our tile floors!
Everytime we use it, I feel like we're doing an infomercial for it because we always show eachother the compartment in amazement and yammer about what a wonderful gift it was. Needless to say, we LOVE it. I can't imagine not having it.
