The quality of the metal mesh and ring are better than I expected. I put the strainer in an old-fashioned claw-foot tub. It fits perfectly! I was cleaning the bathroom after company left and was shocked to see how much hair was in the strainer. No wonder we were having drain problems every year from all that hair that went straight down the drain when we didn't use the strainer.
I also bought a strainer (Sinkware 5049 Stainless-Steel Kitchen-Sink Strainer) for my garbage disposal, so no more fishing out various items that seem to slip into the disposal.
