Wow, I saw this item on a "green" website. It had a video clip with it. A clip of an Oprah show, I know, I am not a big Oprah fan but I watched the clip. I was sold on the item. I ordered two of the Smart Strips. I hooked one to my computer system and I can't believe how may electrical items I had hooked up until I installed this strip. Now when I power down my computer, the Smart Strip will turn off my monitor, my sub woofer/speaker system, my external heard drive, my printer and wireless print server, my shredder and electric pencil sharpener. That's 7 items that were drawing power 24/7. Now no power is being used during the overnight or periods when I am out of town. According to the manufacture and the lady on Oprah, electrical items that are plugged in will draw power even with off. This apparently blocks "phantom power" from being used. If you want a plug-in strip to save money on electricity use, this is the plug-in strip to buy. Most of us have electrical/electronic gadgets that still draw a little power after they are turned off. Many units are powered by transformers that draw power as long as they are connected to a source of electricity even though the unit they power is turned off. With the smart strip, once the main unit is switched off, all other gadhets plugged into the strip are disconnected from the power source and thus draw no more electricity. I use two oof them; one for my computer and it's peripherals which use three transformers and my audio system. When my computer is turned off, all of the peripherals go off, too. There is a sensitivity adjustment with which you can tune the plug-in strip to turn on or off with the unit plugged into the control spot. It really works.Customer Review: Excellent Deal

I purchased a couple of these in order to save money on my electric bill and make it easier to manage my electronics. I found the power strip very easy to use and so far ahs worked very well. I have one for my PC where I plugged in my PC as the control with the periperals that I only need when the PC is on plugged into the control plugs. Now when I power down my PC, the monitor, speakers, label printer, etc... automatically power down as well. I used the always on plugs for things like the wireless printer that need to always stay on.
Same thing with the second strip and my living room TV. The sorround sound, sub woofer, playstatation, etc not turns off when I turn off the TV but I left the cable box on an always on plug since it has a very long startup time.

I have had this product for about 6 months and it works great. I have it tied with my entertainment center. When I turn the power off to my surround sound, this unit senses the drop in power consumption from the surround sound and kills power to my tv, vcr, dvd player, dvd recorder,
playstation, and a/v diverter. When I hit the button on the remote to turn the surround sound back on, everything comes back to life!
Normally when you turn the switch off on these devices (tv, dvd player etc.) they still draw "standby power". With this smart strip installed, it basically "unplugs" the devices and in turn saves you $MONEY$. It is another way to save energy and drop your utility bills. I recommend this unit to everybody.

This smart strip LCG3 has done everything that it has promised. I have tested it and used it in all three areas of my apartment from the Tv with all the gadget like PS3, amplifier/tuner and subwoofer. It shutdown the power and reduces my energy comsumption greatly. If you think about it most of us sleep for 8 hours and are away from home at least 9 hour a day that is 15 hours of energy your burning without u even being around to notice. Not only will it help me be green, but it is saving me a TON of green. Do your part and dont delay get this product today you wont be un happy with the results and it is easy to use. My friends all love the idea and were amazed at the energy savings.
