I am using this product for my entertainment center which includes an HDTV, Tivo, network router, DVD player and Xbox 360. Using the control device allows me to shut the power off to my DVD player and Xbox 360 -- saving me about 15W of energy.
It probably won't affect my electric bill much, but it does make me feel good that I'm not wasting as much electricity. Plus, it's a lot more convenient than my old power strip behind the TV.

I bought this product to save electricity in my media center. The product works as advertised. I have my TV plugged into the control outlet. I plugged my DirecTV PVR into the "always on" outlet. I have my game console, amplifier/receiver and DVD player plugged into the controlled outlets. When I turn off the TV, the game controller, Amp, and DVD player are disconnected from power. These smart strips are very easy to use. I purchased one to use with our entertainment center. I have our amp plugged in as the control, the cable box on the bypass, and everything else (DVD player, TV, Wii) plugged into the auto-switched outlets, and it works great! Just turn on the amp and everything else pops on as well. Adding this to our entertainment center saved us $12 last month on our electric bill.Customer Review: Works so well I bought 2 more!

I own two of the 7 plug smart strips after buying and loving the 10 plug model for my home entertainment cord mess :) I couldn't recommend this more to anyone who wants to be energy-conscious but lives with other people who have trouble remembering to turn things off. I'm sure my roommate appreciates me not bugging him to unplug his power-guzzling transformer for his pc speakers!Customer Review: Great device

I use this power strip with my computer. I hated the fact that my printer was always on even when my computer was not. I run my printer and monitor into this device and when I turn my PC off, it automatically turns off the printer and monitor. Too simple!
I plan on buying another one to use with my TV and stereo.
Very easy way to save money on electricity.
