Tools and Hardware Reviews of Gardus D1203615+ D3203612 LintEater System And Extension KitCustomer Review: Money saver: do it yourself: dryer vent cleaning kit Summary: 5 Stars
Re: Linteater System And Extension Kit $39.99 with free shipping
You get product RLE202 (10-piece rotary dryer vent cleaning system; includes total of 12 ft of rods) plus a separate package of 4 3-ft extension rods. That's 24 ft of reach.
This system works well. If you need the extension, like to save a buck and don't mind doing a little work, then you need to buy this kit.
Our 15 ft dryer vent wasn't clogged, but contained about a plastic grocery bag full of lint. The end of the dryer vent was located under our deck. It's grid-like cover had collected a thick layer of lint. I suspect this to be the main reason why (after moving houses) my dryer would take 2-3 cycles to dry a load of towels completely. A load of laundry on the medium heat setting now takes much much less time (and energy) than before.
Customer Review: Linteater works for me Summary: 5 Stars
The Linteater works very well. Make sure you read and understand the manual. It offers different solutions for different home setups. Personally , my dryer is on the second story. After disconnecting vent from dryer, I used a electric blower and drill to clean the line with the Linteater.I recommend to measure the rod length needed and then use tape to secure the rods together. I also recommend ( with caution )to take off the back of the dryer and remove then clean the lint trap itself. I found tons of lint and debris inside the housing. From the inspection I found the weather stripping needed to be replaced ( cost $3.00 ). Now my dryer closet doesn't have any lint. The dryer performs like it was brand new. If you do clean your dryer annually, you will save MONEY, prevent fires, and your TIME. TWO thumbs up. :)
Customer Review: Dryer Vent Cleaner Summary: 5 Stars
This thing really works and is easy to use. My dryer vent goes into the wall then takes a 90 degree bend and goes straight up 18' and out the roof.
I unhooked the vent from the dryer, put the brush and the first nylon piece on, hooked it to my 3/8 inch drill and started up the pipe. When I got the first section in, I unhooked the first length of nylon from the drill added the second, hooked back up to the drill and slowly when on up. Did this until I had 6 pieces attached.
Then I took my shop vac and held the suction tube by the bottom of the dryer vent and slowly reversed the process.
This thing cleaned out my dryer vent just like new! I had about a gallon of lint in my vac when finished!
Works great and is not too expensive, and VERY simple.
Customer Review: GREAT PRODUCT!!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
This is product is great!!!! My dryer vent goes up two stories to the roof and it was unbelievable the lint that was clogged up there. It was taking me up to three cycles to dry clothes. From other reviews I thought I would need a drill to use this product, but we just turned it with our hands. The little metal claw was very helpful in unclogging all the lint. Another reviewer wrote to be sure & turn in the same direction so the extensions don't come apart, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT so they don't unscrew and come apart up in the vent.
I thought this item was pricey, but when the chimney guy wanted $115 to unclog my vent just one time, this item looked like a deal. And it was. Now I will have this Linteater System to use every six months to a year. Absolutely GREAT PRODUCT!!!!
Customer Review: Fixed my dryer, saved electricity Summary: 5 Stars
I have a dryer vent line that is about 30 ft long. Even with the 25 feet of extension rods, this thing wasn't long enough to go all the way through it. I had to insert it from both ends of the line. While this took double the time, this device did exactly what it was supposed to do, clean my vent line. Some words of advice, you need a good shop vac to hook up to the opposite end of the vent from the end you are inserting the lint eater. Follow the directions, especially the part about not reversing your drill, as it will unscrew the connecting rods, leaving them inside your vent line.
The results of a clean line are much quicker drying times, and lower electric bills. Very noticable, too.
