I wanted a fan that I could place in my bedroom window to blow in cool evening air without too much fan noise. This fan is super quiet. It has three speeds and when set on #1 (slow) it is quieter than any other fan I've owned. And on speed #1 it still blows a significant amount of air. I plan on buying two more of these fans!
This fan also has a timer that will auto-shutoff so you can go to sleep with the fan on but not have to have the fan blowing all night long. The fan also has a "tip over" switch built in so it will shut off if it is not standing upright.

I have three of these fans. I like the features, the ease of use, how quiet they are. I mounted two on the wall and they do a great job supplementing my house centeral air conditioning, moving air more to where I set and work in these two rooms. The fan head turns more than enough to point it and still mount it vertical on the wall. Looks good. I like the rotating grill much better than those fans that turn their whole 'body'. I used an extension cord and plugged it into the wall outlet that I can turn on both the room light and fan with a single click. Nice quiet unit.Customer Review: great little fan

i purchased this fan for my home office. we do not have air conditioning on the first floor and it can get very humid with the windows open. this little fan helps to alleviate some of the humidity and keep air moving in this small space. i planne d on mounting it to the wall next to the window but so far have found that it works well sitting on top of my monitor. the ocillating feature is nice also, not too strong, pretty quiet too. also, i saw the same exact model on sale at BJs Wholesale Club for $5 more than I purchased it on Amazon. I bought this fan to use on my office desk, so it needed to be compact, unobtrusive, and QUIET (in addition to cooling me off). I have been very pleasantly surprised, as it fulfills all my requirements and for very little money.
I haven't tried wall-mounting it, though I understand it works that way as well. The oscillating feature is nice, as is the adjustment of fan direction. I greatly appreciate the silent operation, ease of operation, and good airflow at any speed. Definitely worth a lot more than I paid for it!

First of all I got this to fit in a backpack and it was much bigger than I thought. I was a little dissapointed at first. Then when I turned it on I noticed how cool the air seemed and how much of a wide area it covers. If you put it close to you, you will feel air on pretty much your entire body if you turn the oscillator on. Not that much power though but enough to say it has replaced another fan I had and that fan has more power. Now I have to find a smaller one.
