I don't usually post reviews but had to comment on this because it has made such a difference. We live in So. California--Orange County and have very hard water. We moved here a year ago and I have had bad hair days ever since. Partly from the humidity, but mostly due to the hard water. My hair never really felt clean. It was always fine whenever I traveled, so I figured out it was due to the hard water. I was skeptical that this would work, but it has made such a difference! My hair and skin are much softer and cleaner feeling. The chlorine smell I sometimes noticed after I showered is gone. There has been no change in the water pressure. My husband (who is great, but not that handy) installed it in 20 minutes or less, no problem. Said all he needed was a wrench. We've had it for a month and would highly recommend. In 2002, I began having a problem where I had a mild itchiness over my entire body. To cut a long story short, I finally solved the problem by installing a filter on my shower head. The first filter I used (which I bought at Sears) lasted about six months before becoming clogged. I used those for a few years before trying the Sprite.
I've now been using the Sprite for about four years, replacing the element once per year on average. One thing I like about the Sprite is that it has never become clogged. Instead, I know it needs replacement when my body starts itching again. I replace the filter and the itchiness goes away completely within a few days. You can't argue with results.

It was hard sorting through all of the options for shower filters. I came across a lot of websites/articles purporting to be unbiased, but they'd turn out to be created by the companies behind certain filters. This left a bad taste in my mouth. I was a little worried that this one might break as others suggested, but I finally settled on this one. I love it! I haven't had any problems with cracking or leaking, as others suggest. Make sure you use plumber's tape (not included) and don't overtighten and you'll be fine. I'm not sure if even those accounts are true to begin with... I'm skeptical, at least. I've been using mine for a few months and have had no problems. Very happy!!Customer Review: One problem, One simple fix.

The one problem was water leaking out where the two halves of the filter screw together. It had the appearance of having a place to put a small rubber O-Ring in there & then screw the two halves together, but it did not come with one, nor did the instructions & diagrams show any such thing. Anyway, I took ours to the hardware store & got a rubber O-Ring for this. It worked 100%. No more water leaking out the middle & the WATER PRESSURE went back to normal. Why they do not come with this rubber O-Ring is beyond me??? This is an easy & very cheap fix. The rubber O-Ring was about two dollars & it has lasted through several filters so far.Customer Review: Finally -- relief!!

For many years I had been suffering from horrible allergy attacks after getting out of the shower. I never understood why. Finally fed up, I did some research on-line and realized I could actually be allergic to the chlorine! I immediately ordered this filter but didn't have high hopes. Well, I can't hardly believe my luck! I no longer have sneezing attacks after my shower and I don't go through a half a box of Kleenex every night. It's amazing! A simple solution for a weird problem. I would highly recommend this to anyone suffering from the same crazy shower allergies as I was. Give it a shot!
