skin and hair are much softer than when i washed with regular, hard water. i get suds a lot easier in the shower, i can squeeze water out of my hair much more easily. i dont experience dry skin or hair anymore. ive gone through about 5 filters now because my wife n i take showers frequently, they only last us about 2 or 3 months, but its worth the money for refills. once the filter has run its course, i can tell the difference immediately. skin starts drying up n peeling, hair starts looking dry, harder to style. i wish the filters would last us longer but oh well, im hooked now so it makes no difference. theyve earned my money. if you have hard water -- the kind you cant leave on glasses in the sink because of the stains it leaves -- you will notice an immediate difference after using this just once. you will have virtually no more calcium build up in your shower too, so your faucet n knob will be safe from that white crust. nice!Customer Review: Softens Our Water, Differences In Our Skin

We bought this product because the water that comes into our home from the city, is not good. We noticed a lot of black tar-like deposits on our shower heads from the city water, and changes in our skin since we moved here. Also, our hair would break off easily since bathing in this water.
3-weeks ago, we bought the Aquasana shower head for several of our showers, and it has been phenomenal. Our skin is softer, hair is no longer breaking easily, skin doesn't get as dry or itchy, our skin is smoother, we've noticed a reduction in skin irritation, reduction in facial bumps, the shower stays cleaner, and no more black tar-like deposits on the shower head. That's a lot in 3-weeks.
It's a phenomenal product. It definitely works. Now, we are looking into the whole house system, so our washing machine, tubs and sinks can also benefit from the clean water Aquasana produces.

This Aquasana AQ-4100 was a snap to install and works exactly as advertised...it turns your water into something worthy of putting on your body everyday. Skin feels fresh and not breathing vaporized chlorine is a definite plus. Also, water pressure was effected only slightly which was a concern before I purchased it. Overall, a great product.
As a sidenote to whoever wrote the review claiming that this filter and the Jonathan Beauty Water are identical, that is simply a false statement. They are both made by the same company but to different specs. The JBW uses an ATC(Anomorphous Titanium Silicate)filter media where as the Aquasana uses a cheaper CSC(Coconut Shell Carbon) filter media. However, I have read reviews for the JBW on other sites stating that it wears out quicker than the Aquasana. So, I went with endurance over beauty and so far I'm glad I did.

I did a great deal of research on the Internet for the "best" shower filter. I was concerned about the filter not lasting, losing water pressure, etc. I came across the Aquasana on amazon and read all the great reviews on it... After ordering it, I am so glad that I did. It was really easy to install and I honestly feel like the water pressure coming out of it is BETTER than with my old shower head. The shower head swivels and has several different settings, like massage, rainfall-type flow, etc. It really does feel like you are showering in spring water. Just the idea of showering in chlorine-free and mineral-free water is refreshing in itself. I am really happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it to anyone living in an apartment who wants filtered water and who cannot install a filter on the main line.... It's a little pricy but well worth it.Customer Review: Really makes a difference!

This is a fantastic product. It's not dirt cheap, but you get what you pay for. It's basically an upgraded Brita water filter but it REALLY makes a difference. It has a carbon filter as well as crushed shells inside.
We live in Haiti. We use unfiltered cistern water in our showers and this filter has made all the difference. My wife loves the way her hair feels now after a shower - clean and smooth.
The unit screws on just like any standard shower head. The mount is made of metal, so you'll want to use a couple wraps of plumber's tape so it doesn't rust. Other than that, it's a very simple process. Just screw on the filter, run the shower until the carbon dust is gone (30 seconds in 5 second bursts) and then screw on the shower head. The shower head has multiple settings from spray to massage.
