I got this heater for my son's room. I read the other reviews about the blue light and was prepared to break out the duct tape. After the setting the temp in auto mode the blue light goes out. There is susposed to be a red light on at the base of the heater to let you know it's plugged in, but it does not glow. The heater does need to be reset if it's unplugged. I mostly leave it alone though. The heater is nearly silent and blows warm air, not hot air. It makes some expansion noises too. I don't know if the ionizer works as I don't have one without it to compare. Overall I think this is a great buy and would definitely buy another if I needed one.Customer Review: Excellent Buy

This heater/unit is excellent. The remote control is just an added feature to this great model. We've been using the fan function recently, but have turned the heater on a couple of times for those cool fall nights. We are using this in about a 1200 square foot area of our basement, and its keeps the entire room very comfortable. We struggled with heaters last winter, and I have to say this is by far the best. We did the oil heaters, and they couldn't even get the room temp above 65 after 4 hours of the unit running. This ceramic heater has managed to get the temp up in just 30 minutes of use. It works REALLY WELL.
Downside?
Consumes a lot of electricity - so use on the really cold nights. Not for full-time, sole heating use, in my opinion, but still cheap as a spot heater, when needed.
Noise? Not too bad, and not nearly as loud as other reviews have noted. Acceptable.
We looked and looked, comparing numerous products, and frankly, we're very satisfied.
Quality? Good. Well made and a bargain at this price when compared to more expensive, feature-deprived competitors.
Oh, it's NOT ugly. :-) Fits most rooms' decor.

I bought this heater and have had it for about a month now. It is really good, pretty quiet! I have a fairly cold drafty room so this heater works well. I love the remote feature! It is helpful if I don't want to get out of bed on a cold night. And, Yes, like other people have mentioned about the really bright backlight issue, I see it too, but it isn't too bad! It is rather quiet and the oscilatting movement spreads the heat around. I hear a lot of clicking noises when it initially heats up but I think that it maybe due to the plastic heating up and therefore expanding!
Overall, A good buy.....

It's been 3 months since we bought this heater, we use it everyday and it works terrific. It warms up our 12'x18' bedroom really fast. We also used it on our large livingroom, it takes a little longer but it does a good job. We are very pleased with this purchase and we'll definitely buy a second one for the next winter.
The remote control is very convenient and the fact that we can program it to reach a desired temperature is a plus. It also works as a fan so we might still use it during summer time.
