Tools and Hardware Reviews of Chamberlain RWA-300R Wireless Alert System

Customer Review: Great System
Summary: 5 Stars

I ordered this system to cover hidden areas in my outer yard which can't really be helped by light sensors, etc.. The system has worked perfectly from day one. Now if someone hops over the back fence that is behind my garage and shed area to retrieve a lost ball (or whatever) the alarm goes off. My other sensor covers a small side area next to my home and when the beam is crossed by anyone (such as the gas meter reader or perhaps someone who might attempt to break in through a side window) the alarm goes off. The alarm is loud enough that I can hear it go off anywhere in the house. I love it. There have been very few false alarms and if there have been it has been caused by either a squirrel or stray cat that has somehow leaped across the beam area.

Customer Review: Adapted GREAT for long distance mailbox alert
Summary: 5 Stars

Our extra large steel rural mailbox is about 250ft from our house, through some woods from a bird's eye view. Husband adapted so alert is given when mail box is opened. He attached the transmitter to the back mailbox wall & drilled a small hole for the wire antenna to hang down on the outside. The receiver is in our kitchen of our brick ranch-style house. The set up has been 100% reliable so far. We experimented first to see if signal would be received from basement(daylight)--it didn't, but we really didn't expect it would.

Have been so pleased with the quality & reliability of "The Reporter" that we bought a second unit to use as a driveway alert. Been a couple months & still all working A-1.

Customer Review: Long Range, Good Battery life.
Summary: 5 Stars

I have used this item for two years to alert me to possible intruders at the corners of my property. The range between the sensor and the base station is greater than other remote systems I have tried and the batteries last much longer than the others. Also, the dark green color makes it unnoticeable.
Two words of caution - 1. If you add additional sensors, be sure to get the correct model. For this base you need the PIR2-300 add on sensor. (There is also available a CWPIR add on sensor, and it will NOT work with this system. I made that mistake.)
2. To add an additional sensor to the base station, follow the (brief) instructions carefully.

Customer Review: Tough little unit; works as advertised.
Summary: 5 Stars

I've just bought 2 more reporter units because of how impressed I've been with them. We've had our first reporter for over 2 years now. It sees well into the triple digit temperatures in the summer and snow in the winter. Over the last 2 years it's also seen 2 pretty tough icestorms. The unit has not flinched with any of this. We have the sensor ~500 feet from the base, with solid forest between the sensor and the base and have zero reception problems. There aren't many wireless accesories that will operate at this distance with this much obstruction. The sensor also has phenomenal power management as well because we have yet to change the original batteries in it!

Customer Review: Security for the Security
Summary: 5 Stars

I was deployed to an undisclosed location when I ordered this product. Our senior leadership thought it would be fun to pay "unexpected" visits to perimeter posts, trying to catch people doing things wrong. As if being deployed as security wasn't hard enough, now you had to worry about being attacked administrativly by people that don't carry weapons daily. Myself and another troop ordered these sensor's to give us a heads up when we were about to be "visited" The only issue was the loud beep that could be heard even through armored posts.....nothing a towel couldn't help. To date leadership still can't figure out how we always knew when they were coming.
