These tealights have a very real effect in my opinion. They look great as they seem to have realistic flicker to them. For the price these are definitely worthy. They have an on/off button. One battery will last a long time if you turn them off when you're done with them. Their real benefit in my opinion is the part where you don't have to worry about the open flame. We kept them in our windows (next to drapes)over Christmas for a very nice curbside effect. These tealights are worth every penny.
