How about an iron and ironing board all in one? That's right, replace your handheld iron and your ironing board with the Digital Fabric Steam Press, the easiest way to remove fabric wrinkles. The Digital Fabric Steam Press quickly removes wrinkles without damaging fabrics with a molded heating element that creates even temperature distribution for more effective and efficient pressing. A non-stick Teflon pressing surface that is 9 times larger than most conventional irons insures a time savings for you. A precision digital panel allows you to control multiple dry and steam settings, and material and temperature adjustments. For exceptionally stubborn wrinkles, a steam burst function is included. You simply lay the fabric on the pressing surface, select your steam setting, and pull the top (pressing cover) down to meet the bottom(pressing plate). It's that simple! I am one of those people who irons everything, including t-shirts and bed sheets. Recently while using a hand iron, a light went on in my head. I remembered a "mangle" my mother used to use when I was a kid, and a similar version a friend of mine in Switzerland uses. So I signed into Amazon and after a bit of researching, decided to purchase the SF-680. Because I live in a small apartment with limited space, I decided not to buy the stand, but to use a collapsible bridge table, which works fine. Like any piece of machinery, it takes getting used to, but once I learned to maneuver the press and the material being ironed, I am very satisfied with the outcome. My biggest problem is that I have burned the back of my right hand three times by accidentally touching the hot plate while accommodating the material. One does need to be careful! To iron dress shirts to perfection, this press probably is not much faster than a hand iron. But it irons everything else - t-shirts, sheets, handkerchiefs, pillow cases, etc. in a breeze. For pressing pants you will not get as good a finish as with a hand iron, but it will be as good as you will get from a dry cleaner. My only advice to new owners is: this is one time you really need to read the operating manual carefully! I am so pleased with this product and am now only asking myself why it took me so long to considering buying one. The price is really not that much more than a good steam iron, and the time you save makes the press pay for itself in no time! I am now recommending it to all my friends who still iron (a vanishing species!!!)
