Tools and Hardware Reviews of Steam Fast SF-680 Digital Fabric Steam Press

Customer Review: Love it!
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this little press. I am the type of guy that ironing pushes me right over the edge. I put 2 wrinkles in for every 1 I take out, therefore I would only iron if I absolutely had to. I usually just wear cargo shorts when I'm kicking around but I didn't like the way the flaps over the pockets bend and wrinkle after washing them. This little press makes short work of fixing that. I just lay the whole thing down and press one side then the other and they flatten right out. Shirts are a breeze too. you just have to get the hang of how to lay the clothes out before you press (which doesn't take too many times to do)and then press the top down for about 5 seconds. Thats it.I read probably 40 reviews before buying the press and most were positive but a few were totally negative. I think it's just up to the individual, if you want a perfectly pressed article and willing to spend the time to get it then maybe an iron is for you.The speed and ease of this press makes it perfect for me.

Customer Review: Well Worth the Money
Summary: 5 Stars

I have worked at a dry cleaners and have used the professional size steam press to press clothing and to steam block sweaters. The surface where the clothes lay on never gets too hot, unless the lower steamer is applied, which this produce does not have. I was surprised at the reviewer who expected the steamer to get too hot to handle?

This smaller version of the dry-cleaners steam press works well. It saves time in pressing, but you need to know the techinques to position the shirts and pants so that you'll get nice creases. Steam comes from the upper lid of the presser. Steam does not come out from the pressing pad.

In order to block sweaters, position the sweater so that it is flat and then lower the pressor lid to 'almost' touching the sweater and let the sweater steam a few seconds. You may want to spray a mist of water onto the sweater before steaming. Next, move sweater around and repeat until entire sweater has been steam blocked.

I searched Amazon for a few days before deciding on this product. My ultimate goal was to eliminate the ironing in my life while easing and expediting the process of ironing/pressing shirts. I have had the Steam Press for 6 weeks now and am very pleased. It takes only a few minutes to warm up, and even less time to press one item. I am a single male, who just never could work his way around an iron. Unfortunately, my job requires me to wear a dress shirt 5 days a week. Thanks to the Steam Press, I have made this part of my life much easier. I even use it to steam other items I would never have bothered before (ie: jeans, ties).

I can't say if the Steam Press is the best Press on the market. But, I can tell you it worked for me as described and is hard to beat for this price (I got it for $200).

Customer Review: TIME SAVER!
Summary: 5 Stars

My husband is a tall and proportioned man. His shirts and trousers seem massive to me and ironing them has been very time consuming. For instance, to iron a pair of trousers using a regular iron and board, I need to reposition the trousers at least 6 to 8 times; now I reposition the trousers about 4 times.

I would estimate that this product has cut down ironing time on all items by at least 1/4 and I truly appreciate its performance. Like any other new interactive product, getting the results you want takes reading the manual and practice. After ironing 4 or 5 shirts or trousers, you get the "hang" of it. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to reduce ironing time. FYI, I did not purchase the stand; I use the steam press on my kitchen island.

Customer Review: Excellent for the domestically challenged
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm the sort of guy who can't use an iron to save his career, but chokes every time he has to fork over $3 a dress shirt to the cleaners here in NYC.

After using this device, It looks like those days are over. Sure, I haven't done nearly as good a job as someone who knows what he/she's doing with a regular iron--let alone professional cleaners--but now I can get away with throwing my work outfits in with the rest of my clothes and dropping them off at the per-pound laundromat. When I get them back, it's a simple matter to press out the wrinkles that a supposedly wrinkle-free shirt accumulates after being left folded in a laundry bag all day.

For anyone with similar needs who barely knows which side of an iron not to touch, this product is for you.
