Well, this is the last one I'm gonna throw my money away on. This device is not fit to use as a 3X or better reading aid. With two of them you can use them as a cheap telescope.

For you nay sayers...here is a test since you won't take the time to actually look through it:

Get a boy scout magnifying glass or get one at a dime store. Go home with it. Go to your living room. Turn on the overhead light. Try to make a dot of light on the palm of your hand with the magnifying glass. You see that dot...it's about the size of your little finger nail.

No get this magnifying glass. Do the same thing. Notice the 'dot' is larger than the size of circle you can make by touch the tip of your thumb to the tip of your middle finger.

This is proof they are not meant to be used the same way.

Telescope...yes.
reading...no.

Do not buy this product if you need something to read small print. The size is perfect but the magnification is very weak. I am extremely disappointed. I have a 2" magnifier that is so much more powerful. I wear reading glasses and I can read small print without them using the small 2" magnifier. I can't say the same for this 5-1/2 magnifier. Even with my glasses, the print is extremely hard to read. It might as well be window glass. Do not purchase. Also, the box it came in did not have any packing material and was split down one side. All in all, I think I am going to return this product.

i am a physician and i use magnifiers to look at lesions on the skin. My big complaint is that the glass is blurry. i tried to clean it multiple times before i realized that it was polished poorly.
to make matters worse they are extremely heavy.
do not buy this product. the saying you get what you pay for is true. i bought these because they were less expensive, they are terrible.

Do NOT Buy!!!!

Complained to seller that magnification was nOT 3X -- it is 2X at
best. They responded that box said it was 3X and they do not check
the cliams. Made in China. Also very HEAVY -- not easy to use.
