Tools and Hardware Reviews of Tricam GOR201B-T1 Gorilla Carts 600-Pounds Capacity Dumping Cart, BlackCustomer Review: Good garden tool for a big yard! Summary: 5 Stars
This cart suits my needs very well. I had been looking for a two wheel wheelbarrow, but this was more stable and costs less.
I had it built in about 40 minutes. The instructions were clear and the bubble pack of screws and parts was seperated into the steps that you would need them. No sorting and laying bolts everywhere was needed. It took less than 30 minutes to assemble. The cotter pins that hold the wheels on were soft brass and a bobby pin would have been better. Replacement pins cost 25 cents each at the local Ace hardware.
The cart rolls easily, even over difficult terrain. So far, I have used it to move 10 40# bags of topsoil and 3 cubic yards of loose mulch. The dirt poured out easily, but the mulch was so light that I had to turn the cart completely over to get the last bits out. The dumping mechanism is very elegant and easy to operate.
The cart looks more like a toy wagon than a working tool, but I am very happy with it so far.
Customer Review: better than a wheelbarrow Summary: 5 Stars
Having read a few negative reviews i was tentative about this purchase. boy was i pleasantly surprised! on arrival the assembly instructions were detailed, easy to follow, and the parts were identified perfectly. there was no problem telling which bolt went where. i immediately started moving 6 yards of heavy dirt. it worked perfectly behind my riding mower. the dump mechanism was easy for a 61 year old to manipulate. getting the last drops of dirt out was comparable to a contractors wheelbarrow. you had to giggle it up and down or move forward a little. the cart held as much if not more than i could haul with a contractors wheelbarrow. but much easier. i used it over rough ground without problems it seemed to have no tendency to tip. i recommend this for anybody who wants to retire their wheelbarrow. i have worked in construction most of my life and I'm impressed. i think you could even mix cement in it.
Customer Review: Gorilla Cart OK for Chimps Summary: 5 Stars
Honestly this cart is a great buy for the bucks. The novel way that the reat wheels move forward when dumping is great. Stabilizes the cart and makes dumping easy. I used large flat washers on the bolt heads on the interior plastic to help keep them from being pulled through the plastic and breaking when I put it together. Pretty easy to assemble with simple hand tools. I use mine behind a tractor sometimes and appreciate the easy conversion handle. Nothing extra to buy. I don't haul 600lbs at a time but have distributed quite a bit of crushed yard gravel in small quantities and it worked well, easy to distribute the loads where you need it. Hard to find a better dump cart for less..$..I looked long and hard but decided the Ersa turf wagon cart was $300 higher and not justifiable for my needs. This is a great buy for the money and Amazon is always the best place to buy.
Customer Review: Tuff Little Sucker! Summary: 5 Stars
I first had a chance to use this cart when my neighbor offered his to move 10-yards of topsoil around my yard. After an hour of use, I was so impressed that I ordered my own.
Assembly was relativity easy and I wasted no time in putting my own cart to work. I'm still digging away at the pile of topsoil and even loaded it down with patio blocks and firewood. Like other "Amazoners", I was somewhat hesitate to load the plastic tray with heavier materials. But I found this cart handles the increased loads without incident.
To that end, I have no intent of exceeding the manufacturer's weight rating of a 600lb load or the 300lb max dumping. The last thing any of us need is personal injury or product damage.
For my needs, the good price, and fast shipping from the vendor, this little Gorilla Cart is FREAKIN GREAT!
Customer Review: Much Better Than a Wheel Barrow Summary: 5 Stars
High quality cart. I've moved many loads of dirt, rocks, bricks & mulch with this cart and it hasn't yet suffered any damage and continues to function well. That kind of surprised me as the plastic container at first appeared fragile, but that hasn't proven to be the case. Moving everything I've moved with a wheel barrow would have been a much bigger chore.
The cart also works as a great child mover, i.e. my little son loves taking a ride in it.
Two nits, one is when you dump a load, it still leaves about 5% of the load in the cart, so you have to pick up the cart in order to get it "all" out.
The second is a small joke and that is the cart is well made lacks a back up beeping function, similar to what you'd hear from a large truck. :-)
