Tools and Hardware Reviews of Stainless Steel UpgradeCustomer Review: My experience with this. Summary: 3 Stars
I saw the reviews here, and decided to try it myself. It is a little bit hard to use, and I think it is probably impossible to get it installed without bubbles. I did struggle with it for a while. I did a 23 x 18 panel on my dishwasher. Starting from the top it went well no bubbles until half way. For some reason at the halfway point I started to get bubbles. I would pull back and try again, but kept getting bubbles. I got a lot of them worked out but still there were bubbles in it. I took a needle and poked small holes in them to let the air out. This works pretty well and if you spend some time with it you can get it pretty smooth looking. It's not perfect but its easier than painting, and cheaper than a new appliance. I don't mind the way it looks, I like it better than the ugly cream color that I had before. I think a second pair of hands would have helped too. I have a lot left over, so maybe there will be other uses for it. *** Update *** After a few days I am less satisfied with the product. Many of the bubbles are coming back. After 8 hrs or so you will have large bubbles in a new place, like 6 or 8 inches long. You work them out, put a hole to let air out etc. and get it pretty smooth. 8 hrs later there are different ones. I think if I leave it alone it will just come off completely. I wiped the surface before I started, but I didn't clean it with anything to "strip" it. Maybe that will help. If you are like me and you wanted to try it out for yourself, I would suggest that you accept that it isn't the quick easy fix, scrub the surface with a strong cleaner, get someone to help you apply it evenly. Maybe then it would work, but I am starting to think it's a waste of time. I may resort to removing the door and painting it. Good luck.
