I spent most of the period from 2006 to 09 living abroad, and as consequence ended up with a number of devices which would operate only using U.K./Singapore or Indian plug standards. Most power adapters and devices these days will take 110v back here in the States, but the physical config obviously just doesn't match.
What I like about these adapters is you can put them on a power strip and forget them. My hard drive from Singapore plugs in just fine, as do my camera power adapters from India. Works great, never a problem.

I bought a cell phone in the UK in order to make cheap calls back to the US. It came, of course, with the UK plug. This plug allows me to charge the phone here in the US prior to travel back to the UK. This works because the cell phone charger automatically senses whether the outlet voltage is 110V (US) or 220V (UK). An important note here... if you are looking for something to actually convert the voltage, this is NOT what you need.Customer Review: Best adapter ever!

This is by far the best travel adapter I have ever got! Very stable once plugged to a wall socket, and it is great for Italian and German plugs. I will buy more of these for my European electronics that I use in the US.Customer Review: This is it!
