This is a terrific little press. It's only 1/2 ton but what's a thousand pounds between friends? The 1k press is almost twice the price. I bought it to use as a fret press on mandolins and guitars. Terrific. The only problem is the odd size of the dropping column (I don't know the term). It's a little thin to make adapters for.
