Customer Review: Perfect pocket multimeter

As someone who only occasionally needs the services that a multimeter can provide, this is the perfect device. It's small, easy to store, accurate, and durable.
The unit I received looks much better than the one in the picture. It has a yellow plastic construction, comes with the black/red probes, and includes a 9V battery.
And although it is lightweight, it doesn't seem fragile at all. In fact, it seems very durable.
The instructions are marginally useful at best, but that's not really important since it performs to my expectations. And the price can't be beat. Definitely a handy device to have around the house.

I bought this in January 2010 and it is still working fine on the original battery. I use it to measure volts and current on flashlights. It works well measuring DC amps up to 1.5A or so using the included probes and set to the 10A setting, but I upgraded the leads because I was getting low readings for current over 1.5A (pretty much any DMM will be that way). It would be nice to have another digit in the display, or backlighting, or a sound for continuity testing, but for less than $10, this a great deal. It is also more compact than some of the other cheap DMM's out there.Customer Review: Handy little device

This is a great basic digital multi-meter. It does everything it should, is easy to use, and is accurate. Unlike another reviewer, I had no problems opening the back to replace the battery, nor did I encounter any other problems. Speaking of the battery though, when this product arrived, it came with an included 9V battery, which wasn't hooked up (as it should be), however, the battery was dead on arrival. The above referred-to battery tester was purchased to provide me a serviceable, inexpensive and reliable battery tester for my flashlight batteries.....it is a superperb addition to my flashlight technology repertoire and I recommend it to anyone with a similar interest.
