This is a nice little multi-meter for use around the house or shop. Haven't had any problems with it but I also haven't used it much either - mainly just to test batteries. The small size is great and the price was right. I like the fact that, unlike other meters I've used, it has a separate power on/off switch so you can leave the function dial where you use it the most. The only quibbles I have with it are that the 3 wire sockets aren't clearly marked as to which wire goes where and the wire plugs stick up kindof high so they don't fit into my carrying case if left plugged in. But these are minor issues. Overall you can't go wrong for the money.Customer Review: Functional for minimal cost

I purchased six of these units to use in my classroom for an electric circuit unit. The units work for the minimal requirements for which I need them to, measuring current in a circuit. Of the six received, however, two were nonfunctional upon receipt. I replaced the 9 volt battery and they worked fine. I did notice that each device gave me a different reading on the charge of a battery. I also wish that the directions that came with it were clearer and provided more information. :)
Overall, fine by my standards but because I had to spend money on two new batteries, I took off one star.

Actually quite a little gadget for the money. I bought it primarily for testing small batteries, it does this in the indirect way of telling you how much electrial flow they can generate, but that may be more useful than simply measuring apparent voltage. The rest of the multimeter is just a bonus. Doesn't seem to have an 'auto-off' so dont' forget to turn it off with the switch or interal battery will drain.Customer Review: OK after changing the battery

I wrote a review before complaining that this multimeter reads the voltage erroneously high. The display was showing a battery sign, but at the same time the display being very sharp made me think the battery should be fine. Now, I changed the battery and the reading seems to be acceptable. For the money, you can't find a better tester. Leave it to Amazon to provide good deals. It works well too. The lack of a standard, easily accessible battery was the reason for my less than 5 stars. But then I knew this before I bought.
