I'm giving this humidifier ONE start right now because I'm frustrated. I purchased this thing for over a hundred dollars at Bed Bath & Beyond because I have an expensive guitar and need perfect humidity to keep it playing and sounding right. I was initially pleased as it started out working fairly well. I keep it in a small room with my guitar on a stand and it did well keeping humidity right at around 45 degrees. The room was small enough that it only needed to kick on occasionally. I think I went through about one tank of water for a week and a half of use. After doing one refill and hooking it up, it worked for about two more days and then quit blowing any steam whatsoever. The read out comes on all right, I can hear the fan going, but nothing comes out on warm or cool settings at any setting of humidity. NOTHING. I cleaned it, inspected it, read the manual for any troubleshooting tips, and it still is not working. I don't think it could be the filter because that is supposed to last for at least "2 to 3 months" according to the manual -- and they're $15 eacht to replace anyway... Customer service reps aren't there on the weekends. I notice in the manual they tell you not to return it to where you purchased it for a refund. I don't know what the reps will tell me on Monday, but right now, this humidifier ain't floatin my boat. I want my money back.
Customer Review: CAVEAT EMPTOR: AMAZON.COM'S SUPPLIER, TODAY'S CONCEPT, FAILS TO DELIVER !!!! Summary: 1 Stars
After reading reviews on Amazon.com, I ordered this product from a company called Today's Concept. Four days later I received an e-mail informing me that Today's Concept had experienced a delay in receiving my order, there was a delay in receiving the product from the manufacturer, and they would inform me when shipment would occur. Alternatively,I could phone their Customer Service dept. for shipment info. I phoned, was placed on hold for over 10 minutes before finally being attended. I provided my order number and was informed that the product had shipped two day's prior and that delivery could be expected on 11/20, within about 10-12 days of ordering (which would have been acceptable). Today I received a mysterious e-mail from Amazon.com that my order had been CANCELLED--no reason provided!?!? I am a loyal Amazon.com customer and assume the re-seller, Today's Concept, is responsible for the miscommunication/misunderstanding. I recommend ordering products ONLY direct from Amazon.com. I also suggest that Amazon.com dump this supplier.

i thought german engineered stuff was supposed to be quality stuff. this is not true of their product. you may as well paint it brown because it is a turd, and i will never buy another. i will furthermore warn everyone on facebook and twitter, and others remotely interested in humidifiers about their over-priced failure. i will post my issue on every website i have referenced for troubleshooting as well as amazon and other websites that sell their garbage. i used the product the week after i bought it and it worked fine. i cleaned it as instructed after being put away for a year and the oscillator does not function. i have been in the assembly and repair industry so i thought i could fix the problem to no avail. it is just over 1 year old and conveniently out of warranty. this is not operator error or neglect, it's simply a turd. into the trash tomorrow!

In case you had not noticed, the actual hygrometer reading will never display below 30%. So the unit is programmed that anything below 30%= 30%. As a result of this if you set the unit to desired at 30%, it will never turn on. So the first workable setting is 35% and you will never obtain an accurate actual indication.
When I tried to report the issue to customer service, it took 30 tings, then I was on hold for 10 minutes. They promoised a tech would call me back, never happended.
I own the Venta L 84 air washer, the air washer units made in Germany are the highest quality units avaibable, bar none. However Venta tried to get into the ultrasonic market to compete with Air o Swiss, and they apparently jumped in with their test model still full of bugs....

I bought an earlier model of this. It stopped working after about 2 months of use. I spent over a month on the phone with them. They could not tell me how to fix it, instead they kept telling me I had to purchase more things that did not fix it. In the end I added 50% to the already high cost of the humidifier to no avail. They would not accept return, or replace, or apologize or even reduce the cost of all the extra things they kept charging me for. You will be much happier buying a $30 humidifier that works fine for a couple months and then throw it out. If you do buy this, when it stops working, throw it out! You will save yourself a lot of aggravation.
