I bought this fan for my attic and installed it where there was an existing vent on my room. I was able to bolt it in between two beams on my room. I bought some 15-amp wire and a switch box at Home Depot and split the connection off of an existing (unused) plug that is in my attic. The fan works great in extreme temperatures. The adjustable thermostat is very useful (although I think the temperature is a little off-set from what is marked on the knob, no big deal though). All in all, this fan has saved me in cooling costs and has survived some of the most brutal summer heat in the U.S. - north Texas.
I am planning to buy another one for the other vent in my attic.
