I'm always looking for scented candles that actually perfume the air around them. Most release scent in such a small radius around the candle that you only notice the scent by putting your nose dangerously close to the flame. These Voluspa candles are remarkably scented. Opening the box releases a gloriously complex floral aroma that made me wonder whether I ought to even burn the candles at all. The open box alone can perfume a whole room. But the burning candles very effectively distribute scent. One candle fills several rooms with a lovely perfume that lingers even after the candle stops burning.
The Voluspa packaging is also extremely satisfying. The six candles come securely nestled in an elegant gold box. The box itself is sturdy and square and great fun to open.
My only complaint is that the candles might all smell alike. I can't tell the difference in scent between five of the six. Then again, the scent is so satisfying that I wouldn't mind if everything in the world smelled like it.
