I have several Vornados, and this is the smallest one I have. Item is Vornado 530B three speed compact air circulator. These fans do what they say. They make a 'beam' of air that you can AIM. That's why I like 'em. On low, this one is quiet enough to not hear at all. On high it moves more air than any other comparable fan of it's size. Since this model is smaller, it moves a smaller amount of air, but it's not fair to compare it to it's bigger brothers which are serious air movers. For the price and size, it moves a lot of air. I use it for aiming air to specific areas. My only suggestion to the manufacturer is to move the cord to the side - it comes straight out of the back and gets in the way when I try to put the fan in the window. By far the best fan I have ever experienced in my life!
Have you ever in your life layed down on the floor on a hot day because the temp. on the floor was cooler? Well, with this device you dont have to lay down anymore to get cool. Ive use many other fans in my lifetime, round ones, square ones, oscillating ones, etc. And some of them seemed to work ok and kept me cool sometimes but there were other days where it felt like the only air coming out is hot air. But with the vornado, even on a hot day your air will be cool, just leave it on the ground in your room and point it up. i have a 10 foot ceiling and when i do this the whole room feels cool and I'm also able to feel a cool slight breeze

I ordered one of these for my office and was so impressed by how quiet it is and how well it works that I ordered one to aim over the top of my stereo's amplifier to blow away hot air. (Quiet operation is essential for this use, and, on low, this fan is nearly silent.) Both have been on (usually on the low setting) continuously since I bought them and they've operated flawlessly.
I highly recommend this fan, or perhaps a larger model in the series for a big room. Even this little one really moves air well if you want gentle movement. As I understand, Vornado's design of the fan blades allows their fans to move air more efficiently than some lesser kinds.

This vornado fan is excellent for the money. I needed one for my room because in the summer it gets close to 80F and I have trouble sleeping at night. Even in the spring it gets in the upper 70s and stays there. Well I recently purchased this fan, and let me tell you it works great! On the low power, I can feel the breeze it creates 6 feet away. When pointed at the ceiling or wall as suggested, it creates a nice, gentle breeze throughout the room. On the low power it is very quiet, and even on high it is not too bad. Actually, most of the noise it makes comes from the actual movement of the air and not the motor itself. Recently purchased this fan as our previous fan finally broke after years of use!!
I was looking for a small, quiet, desktop fan for our home office, which would nicely circulate the air. The Vornado 530B 3 Speed Compact Air Circulator certainly fits the bill and the price is great.
I also love how quiet this fan is when it is turned on. The last think I want to hear is a noisy fan while I am busy working on the computer. I don't even notice it while it is running and often forget it is on because it is so quiet!!
