This heater really IS amazing! It's used to heat a pretty good sized common area. And you really KNOW this bugga is not only heating the room, but the hallways, galley kitchen area and all this in a 3 bdrm/2 bath place!
You really KNOW it's working when you open any closed door to enter adjoining room and you see how COLD it is in there! When i first experienced this I was shocked to see how it was actually heating the entire area. And we don't run this high (around 72 max) for this to be the case. It makes life tolerable in the cold season. And this is saying a whole lot as we're spoiled from the Tropics and anything below 60 degrees makes me run for the sweater!
Amazed? You bet.

This is truly the best space heater I've ever owned, and I've tried them all! It is ultra lightweight, stays cool to the touch, and keeps toddlers' fingers out of the heating area. Just program the temperature that you desire, and it meticulously keeps it that way in the room. It shows you the actual room temperature, the programmed temp., and the setting it's on (low/hi, or just the fan.) Worth every cent that it costs. I'd pay double for it, and I'm about to purchase a second one to save on the high gas/heating prices this winter. I have a new baby on the way, so I can keep my thermostat in the house set low, while I keep the baby's room to a warmer/more comfortable setting with the heater. This is the best electric heater I have ever owned, nothing even comes close to its performance. Instead of getting a portion of your body warm, it warms up the entire room in minutes. The digital thermostat is easy to set to the precise temperature desired, and the control's digital readout cycles automatically with the Hi/Lo setting, current room temp, and thermostat temp setting. When the desired temp is reached it maintains the temperature automatically.
A very nice feature is the case never gets hot and the output temperature is not burning hot, but comfortably hot.
The heater is very stable and easy to move around with one hand, even while the heater is operating.

It's no surprise to me that Vornado heaters are good, their fans are the best. This little heater can warm up a room in no time. Plus, it's quiet, takes up little space, and is pretty safe.
I've shut off the vent for the heat pump in my office and use just this heater instead. The air's warmer than what the heat pump provides and I can get warm. We've tried another brand of heater and it just doesn't work as well.
If the Vornado fans we bought several years ago are any indication, I think we'll probably have this heater for many years to come. The fans have held up well and remain efficient and very economical.

I have purchased several of the cheaper model Vornado heaters (AVH2). These heaters always did a great job heating the room, but they made this loud buzzing sound - sort of like an electrical substation.
I assumed the only difference between this model and the AVH2 was the digital display. But no, this model is MUCH MUCH quieter! The buzzing sound is barely audible. Do yourself a favor - if you do buy a Vornado heater, spend the extra couple of bucks and buy this one. It ended up costing me only $7.00 more than the AVH2, but the difference in the noise level is worth every penny....
