I bought a heater for $25, $50 and returned both of them, because I had to stay close to get any heat at all. I was either getting too warm or too cold with my older heaters.
So I went ahead and spent 90$ (a small fortune:-) ) on this one. I am very glad I did !! It heates my room thoroughly. I dont have to sit in front of the heater to be warm.
The vortex action really works.. it circulates air even into the corners of the room. At 90 bucks, it's money well spent.

I use the Vornado to keep the chill out of a 450 sq. ft. concrete floor, workshop in Los Angeles. Heater is very small, quiet, powerful, and keeps room temperature constant. Powerful fan (for size) is great at keeping warm air softly circulating around room (hot air isn't clinging to the ceiling). Controls are easy to understand and use. Vornado can also be used as a fan in the summer months.Just remember that this is only a 1500 watt heater and as such has limitations- it simply isn't capable of heating a large, uninsulated room at sub zero temperatures.

We needed a heater to warm our 400 sq ft insulated garage space. We looked at many before choosing the Vornado. Glad we chose it. We have had it for several months and it has worked great so far. The digital thermostat works very well and this little heater warms the whole garage to the set point in less than 1 hour. While this heater would not be adequate for an un-insulated garage, it keeps our insulated garage 30 to 40 degrees warmer than the outside temperature. On several recent 20 degree days, we were able to keep it 60 degrees in the garage. We can highly recommend this heater.Customer Review: Excellent Room Heater

This is an excellent heater with many options. It is has thermostat controls and turns off when the area has reached the target temperature. It can run "high" to quickly warm a room or "Low" to keep a room temperature steady. The fan disperses heat well in true Vornado fashion, providing good coverage. It's also quiet. This model fan lasts a long time in reasonably clean environments. It costs a bit more than some room heaters, but it's worth it - I've had one for three winters and it's going strong. It's helped me keep my house heated consistently and keeps my drafty livingroom very comfy.Customer Review: Very pleased!

I am very pleased with this product. After having no success in trying several types of inexpensive space heaters to heat a large basement room that has no insulation, I was ready to buy one of those high-end, much-advertised heaters. When I saw the Vornado on Amazon and read the favorable reviews, I thought it was worth a try at the price. This heater is fantastic! It is quiet, efficient and keeps the entire room warm. We have recently had much colder temperatures and had to turn up the setting. The heater is on more often, but still does the job. I highly recommend the Vornado.
