Customer Review: The best electric heater, but lasts less than a year

Extremely pricey for what it is, although it works well. BUT, after less than 4 months of use, it blows warm for 3-4 minutes, then the heater element switches off and it blows cold air. This is just poor workmanship.
It was used to boost the heat a little in a small bathroom, and only for about 15 minutes in the morning. I purchased it last February.
If you like to gamble and are made of money, buy it! You'll love it, as many other reviewers have, and you may get lucky. But for my hard earned money, I'll get something a little more solid such as a milkhouse heater next time.

I bought this heater for our baby's room. I liked that it didn't get hot and had a lot of safety features. When it worked, it was wonderful. However, the first unit broke in 2 weeks: it just stopped turning on. Thinking we had a defective unit, we exchanged it (at Linens and Things). The second heater continues to turn on, a week later, but has stopped producing any heat. It will show the room tempurature and the temperature you set it at, but will not actually produce heat. VERY DISAPPOINTING. I am returning it today and buying a DeLonghi HHP1500 with hopes for better results.Customer Review: Not worth the money

I was very disappointed in this item. It cost close to $100.00 and I have a $29.00 heater that heats better, faster and the fan moves the heat in a greater area. I guess I was expecting a heater that was heavier and had more options. I have learned my lesson, when I purchase an item that costs this much I will go to a local store and compare first or not order on line. I would say that this heater was comparable to one that costs around $40.00 when I compared it after it arrived.Customer Review: Heater does not get HOT!

Advantages of Vornado.
1. Compact, one piece.
2. Outside case is always cool to the touch.
3. Automatic shut off in the event the unit tips over.
Disadvantages:
1. Unit does not put out much heat.
2. Unit is preset from factory to a temp. below 100 degrees.
Do not concern yourself about a fire in this unit as it does not conduct enough heat to start a fire. I purchased two units, and I had to return both of them.

After doing tons of research and dismissing the competitors on grounds of heating cords and melting bodies, I picked this Vornado. From reading the reviews here I knew it was a gamble. Well, here you go, I lost. The unit came brand new, unopened and dead. There were no signs of physical damage or such. The LCD screen was working, but the unit never moved a bit of air.
Returned it and don't plan on getting a new one, too much hassle.
