I've read the various reviews. I can't comment on the experience of other people, but here's mine. I have a bathroom that can be quite chilly, and I thought I'd see if a Vornado would help. It did. In fact, I liked it so well, that I bought one for my elderly parents, who tend to be cold almost all the time. They use it regularly, both in their TV room, and in the bathroom. It's quite light and easy to transport, so they do. THEN I decided to take my bathroom Vornado to work, since we had some "thermostat wars" going on and my office would suddenly turn frigid because someone else was too warm. It worked again. So I bought a third for the bathroom. Nary a problem. It's quiet. It heats smoothly and circulates the heat as claimed. As a result the room gets gently warmer, not the three feet of space in front of the heater. With three units purchased at different times, I would think I would have come across one of the defective ones that others have complained about, but I have not had that happen to me. I am very pleased.Customer Review: It just works!

I am not an engineer. I have no idea how or why this little machine works but it does...beautifully!
The room I sleep in is about 20' x 23' with at least a 9' ceiling. It was an addition completely underengineered; 2 small hvac vents with minimal air flow. Add to that windows across 1 wall and sliding glass doors on the other end; it is hot in summer & freezing in Fall/Winter.
I have used a $50 oscillating heater for 2 years now that, just as others have said, works if you are right in front of it.
So I decided to try this little thing, not expecting too much in a room this size. The difference when you walk in this room is impossible to miss! Right now I have my thermostat on 58 (old house, expensive to heat), and this heater on 64, and I am actually comfortable in here. In fact I will turn it down a degree at bedtime because it gets too warm with the addition of my 4-legged bed warmers.
It's a great product. Period. I worried about the price but it was worth every penny.

This Vornado heater is well-designed and heats a room quickly. The thermostat is easy to set to a specific temp with up/down buttons and regulates the heating and the fan speed depending on the set temperature and room temperature. The display shows the current room temperature.
The heater quickly fills a medium-sized room with warm air. It is good for difficult to heat rooms, such as those with tall ceilings, as it keeps the air moving.
POWER:
When it's heating at maximum power, it draws about 1300 watts. Idle, with the heating element off, and the fan spinning slowly to keep the air moving, it draws about 15 watts. Depending on the difference between the set temp and the room temp, power draw varies between those extremes.
NOISE:
It is quiet, but not silent. Some will find it too loud for a bedroom. Most will find it quiet enough for any other use.
Excellent heater. 5 stars. If it was slightly quieter it would be perfect.

I owe quite a number of these small, super quiet and absolutely efficient heaters and recommended them to many friends who purchased them since and are happy with. They are not totally cheap, true, but the purchase is totally worth it for the satisfaction one gets out of them for a very long time. Of the six heaters I have, one recently started to have a small problem with the power switch. I called Vornado, and even though one year was almost up and it was over the holiday season they immediately send me a gratis UPS return label and had it fixed and send back in less than 2 weeks. Moreover, when I called the customer service I had to wait for a few minutes and just when it was my turn the phone got interrupted. The Vornado staff woman called me back within a few seconds (must have gotten the number of her digital display) and asked me if it was me who was just waiting for Customer Service. How rare is this treatment? :) I am a very happy and content Vornado client, thank you!Customer Review: This is DVTH, not DVH - Ultimate one!

I recommend this one only. It seems to me that DVTH is an upgrade version of DVH (you can see the product number which is different) and far better than VH2. Current temp. and setting temp. is shown repeatedly with fan speed ('LO', 'HI', and 'FA'n only), and it accurately monitor and warm up the room.
Other heaters stops fan as well as the heating element when the desired temparature is reached; this one doesn't. Fan works continuously (slowly) when the temparature is reached... so that the entire room air is heated up properly. I tried Homles one, and Black and decker one, but they don't have this functionality.
I am pretty sure this fan works well esp. when there is another heat source (like ordanary apartment) but heating is not enough. I am not sure for other cases. But definitely, this guy is well worth the money (I know this is expensive). You can search hard and ask for the best price in a big online company which sells this.
