Tools and Hardware Reviews of Vornado EH1-0028-06 DVH Digital Vortex HeaterCustomer Review: Vornado DVH space heater test of time for me Summary: 5 Stars
Vornado EH1-0028-06 DVH Digital Vortex Heater
I own 2 Vortex DVH space heaters. I bought one in 2004 via my electric company, and another in 2006. I had to return the DVH I bought in 2004 because it stopped heating. Vornado replaced it quickly with a new one which has had no problems. I bought them because of their energy use rating and because my house has 10 foot ceilings in most rooms. It takes more than a $20 space heater to deal with that. Both units are still going strong. I have one in my bedroom and one in my den. I love the digital display. The display cycles through the mode (fan, hi, low), room temp and temp set. You can also use them as fans with no heat. I have since added a 3rd Vornado to my collection for the bathroom. Very pleased with Vornado and in the one instance I had a problem, it was resolved with no fuss.
Customer Review: Vornado EH1-0028-06 DVH Digital Vortex Heater Summary: 5 Stars
Vornado has strong brand recognition for quality. Over the past two years we have purchased four (4) Vornado electrical heaters for our home. We own two of the digital heaters and two of the thermostatically controlled heaters. Either of the two yield excellent results. They heat the area that you are in. They work better in a small room setting and with the digital controls you can monitor your actual temperature setting as well as your actual room temperature. The strong selling point on the heater is that it is safe, as well as, energy efficient. When we are in our family room and have our Vortex Digital heater running it is seldom that our central heat unit has to come on. Last winter I saw substantial electrical and natural gas savings by operating the Vornado heater in the evening hours in our family room. I highly recommend this product by Vornado. Their air circulators are also excellent buys and very energy efficient as well.
Customer Review: Fantastic space heater! Summary: 5 Stars
My wife and I purchased this to help keep our Boston area apartment warm and less drafty. We are nothing short of impressed to the point it has become a part of our normal everyday lingo and we are considering whether we want a second one! This heater does a nice job even on very large spaces (roughly 7-800 sq feet, main living area) as long as its not under 45 outside or so (without even running our very inefficient electric furnace) and in bedrooms it is the only heat source you'll need - regardless of outside temperature. It is easy to use and we really like how it adjusts its own output once the room temperature is stablized. It is also very easy to move from room to room as there is a molded, built-in handle, it has a relatively long cord allowing for easy placement, and yes, it really is QUIET (we couldn't believe it at first)! Go to the vornado website and read about the company - you'll be impressed with this US-made space heater!
Customer Review: Vornado EH1-0028 Great Product Summary: 5 Stars
I recently purchased my second Vornado EH1-0028 heater. The first one I use to heat a 12'x16' shop. I normally work late in the evening in my shop which is insulated. My shop can get down to the low 40's or mid 30's inside when the outside temperature is in the teens to mid 30's. I turn on the heater about 1 hour before I plan to work in the shop. I also have a 1200 watt patio heat lamp I turn on. After an hour the inside temp is normally around 66 which quickly heats to 72 once I begin working in the shop. I then turn off the heat lamp and the Vornado maintains the temperature. I purshcased a second Vornado heater to warm our basement which is 12'x16'. This heater stays on 24/7. I have had zero problems with the heater and they do a good job maintaining the room temperature. Overall I'm very please with the heater. The other plus is they are cool to the touch and very quiet.
Customer Review: Does what it should Summary: 5 Stars
I was concerned because of some of the older reviews about build quality and other issues with this heater, but I decided to try it anyway. With LNG prices set to rise anywhere from 25% to 35% this winter, this heater is a smart investment.
We live in an old (1898) condo with single-pane glass, 11' ceilings, and no insulation in the exterior walls. This little heater does a very good job at actually heating a room. My wife no longer has to hover over a space heater, this thing actually brings the whole room up to temperature.
It did buzz a little initially when I first plugged it in. It sounded like bearing noise. I think part of the problem was that it was shipped just in its retail box which has zero packing material. After a few days of running the buzz has disappeared, and the unit is quieter than our central heat coming out of a register.
