This is by far the best electric heater I have ever purchased. Set the thermostat and it just works. It automatically reduces fan speed and heat output when it gets close to the set temp. I have found that in the room I am using it in you set it a degree or two cooler than you want (i.e. 70F to get 72F), but works great and holds that temp very well.
This provides even heat with good circulation from the fan. The room is evenly heated. I wasn't sure I believed the ad copy, but it really does work and keeps the entire room about the same temp. I've had it about a month, and it is now the only heat in an add on room to the house and does a good job.
Only down side is the heater does not come back on after a power failure....same as any other digital control item I have. It does keep settings, but you have to turn it back on.

After reading all the reviews and hearing about this on the radio, I went ahead and shelled out $100 for this. I had really high expectation, having never spent so much for a heater before. I have happy to say that I am completely satisfied. This heater doesn't overwhelm and dry out the room with too much heat. Instead it circulates the heat over time (you should probably give it a good half hour to properly heat the whole room) evenly heating the whole room and leaving absolutely no cold spots. After spending some time in my room, I had completely forgotten how cold it was outside. Other bonuses are that it is very easy to operate and has a thermostat so you can set it to the exact termerature that you want your room to be. My only minor complaint is that for its price, it should have included a remote control. Otherwise, it is a wonderful heater.Customer Review: Best money I ever spent!

I actually have a previous make of this Vornado Heater (same everything but no med setting); and it has to be the best purchase I ever made.
I got it on a strong recommendation of a coworker who used it to heat his bathroom in a large house.
But I actually use it to hit my smallish (large for NYC) 200 sqft bedroom.
It's in a prewar building so the windows don't insulate (and sometimes actually frost over in the inside!)
But the heater does a great job of keeping the room comfortable even then.
Only minor con is that it smells like a burning hair for the first few minutes when I have it on a high setting. May be because of the dust bunnies roaming my apartment, and I neeed to clean it up...
I've read that it's broken down for some people, but I've been using it for almost 4 years now and no problems!

I used this for an entire year to heat a 20x10 master bathroom on a north-facing corner in a house in the snow belt in New York State. Tile floor, double-width full-size windows, no direct sunlight. Unit heated room to desired temp in SECONDS and kept it there ALL WINTER, EFFORTLESSLY and QUIETLY, even at 2 am, during a blizzard with 50 mph gusts. Even when heating it is cool to touch, minimizing fire hazard (if any!) compared with any other stand-alone room heater, and making it safer around children and pets.
I came online to order another for another room and saw the bad review from California. The only explanation for the unit failing to heat a room from 60 degrees to 72 degrees is that the unit was faulty or damaged, was not plugged in, or the outlet was faulty or switched off. This is a terrific product, as room heaters go.

After reading the reviews of this heater on amazon, I decided to go ahead and purchase one of these heaters for my upstairs bedroom. My house is old and drafty, and during the winter I can never seem to make my bedroom warm enough.My heater arrived on the night of a big Noreaster, and I took it upstairs and plugged it in. Within minutes I could feel the toasty difference. It made the room tempeture rise by 10 degrees, easily. I went from 62, to a nice pleasant 72.
My husband likes it because it keeps the air nicely circulated. He likes a fan going year round, and this satifies me because it only blows warm air. We both love it.
I don't understand the negative reviews regarding this product. I've not had any of those problems. I just plugged the heater in and it worked as promised. It's the best space heater I've owned.
