I live in a 37' motor home full time and use this heater to heat the living room and kitchen area. It works great and is very quiet. It provides an even heat through out the area. I like the adjustable thermostat and how it works to regulate the temperature (by adjusting fan speed and heat output). I have used all of the other types of heaters out in the market today and while some are better than others, none come close to the performance of this heater. It does cost more than the other types of heaters but it is well worth the extra money. It may take you a day or two to get used to how this heater operates compared to the other types but just set the temperature to where you want it and then leave it alone and let it do its job.
I highly recommend this heater.

I also purchased this heater for a large sun room. The room has central heat, but it alone couldn't keep the room at a comfortable temperature during the winter. My German Shepard had pups on the way and the sun room was to be the nursery, so I needed a safe and reliable heater. The heater has easliy kept the room at a comfortable 72 degrees. The heater has been on continually for 10 days with not a single problem. The only time the digital thermostat misreads the room temp is when you turn off the unit for a very short time. Running the fan only for a few minutes will cool it back to room temp in a hurry. You also need to keep it unobstructed...blocking the side air inlets will also cause it to read a high room temp. What a pleasure to purchase an item that exceeds its superlative promotion and rather high price.
I've not written a review on Amazon before - but this product deserves to be recognized. It is quiet, efficient, and extremely effective. I was put off by the price at first, but the reviews convinced me to try it. We have a bathroom off the master bedroom. We like to sleep with the deck door ajar even when it is below freezing (door to the rest of the house closed, forced air off in both rooms). This makes the bathroom a chilly place for the first person in the AM. Closing the Bathroom door and turning on the ultra-quiet Vornado heats the room wonderfully by the time the first shower is complete. We couldn't ask for a better fit to our need.

This heater is excellent! I just use the lcd screen to input the desired temperature and decide on High or Low heat, and the heater does the rest. This heater keeps my bedroom comfortable, and I wouldn't expect it to heat any more than a medium sized bedroom. I like the non drying kind of heat the Vornado's put out, as opposed to, say, the scorching heat of a reflective heater (though it has its purpose). The thermostat is accurate, which is very rare for many of the heaters I have bought in the past. Many times the rotary style thermostats of heaters in this price range fluatuate wildly as to when it will turn on and off. Not so with this digital thermostat. Overall, it's a nice heater for the price and it performs its task beautifully.

I'm happy as a clam at high tide with this product. Although, more costly than others, I have always had great luck with the Vornado brand and this is no exception (not so true with other brands costing less). Since I used a gift-card on this, I am doubly pleased as punch. I like the idea that the fan was at least assembled in the good ol' US of A. 9May2009: My luck has run out. Trying to get a stable temperature setting has become quirky at best. I had hoped for better durability. I'll go to a less expensive brand next time; at least they won't be disappointing. 29May2010: review redux. Although, a bit quirky in setting the shut down temperature, it got me through the winter just dandy; so, my opinion of the product is on the rise.
