Customer Review: A life saver in the hospital, great anywhere else

I love this fan! I had this fan for a few years. I bought it for its small size and cloth blade so I can take it with me when I travel as I have trouble sleeping when it is too hot.
Recently I had to have a surgery and took with fan with me to the hospital. The hospital rooms rooms tend to be very warm and this fan kept me comfortable. Not only did it keep me cool and comfortable, it also was very forgiving when someone accidentally got too close to it. Sticking your hand into the blades does not hurt a bit. If this was a fan with plastic blades I might have had trouble having it next to me in the tight quarters of the hospital.
The fan has two settings - high and low. I found it generated a very pleasant breeze on a low setting. One other plus - it makes absolutely no noise.
I can't be more happy with this fan.

I have had this fan for about 2 months and I just love it. It is only effective in a small area, but then that's what it was designed for. I have it on my nightstand, pointing dead at me as I sleep. My husband snores and gets a sore throat when I put a regular fan on in the room, but this keeps me cool and comfy all night without disturbing him. The sound it makes is like music to my ears, it is not only very quiet, but the muted sound it does make is pleasant, like a gentle rainfall. So nice to sleep to.
I think this would also be perfect for a desk or office cubical too. I am going to order one for my bathroom, as the tiny size is very easy to accommodate in any room, even my tiny bath! Great also for a dorm room, cute colors too!
After this purchase I am a true believer and will be buying more vornado products soon.

This neat little portable gizmo is all the breeze that you will ever need on your desk!
It is light and yet sturdy enough to be taken around. With 2 speed settings I can choose the most favorable amount I like. It folds and will easily fit on a decent desk ( for size reference, it is smaller than a football).
This sleek wonder from the Vornado brand will definitely create a good breeze. The reach of its breeze is more than an arm's length. It doesn't create a "Vortex wind" effect like the standard Vornado, but it will certainly cool you down on a Hot 100+ day. Also the best part about it is that it is really really silent. It will not annoy you or your coworker.
I have been using it for more than a month now and I most certainly recommend it to one and all!

I've been looking for a *quiet* desk fan for some time, this one is great. The fabric (nylon?) blades are nice and quiet and let the fan have a larger diameter without it being huge on your desk (as there is no need for the normal fan guard).
On the lower speed, it provides a nice quick breeze up to a few feet away. I use this in my (normally) quiet office and the sound it makes is low and pleasant.
Somewhat odd: The fan is sitting on the same surface as my keyboard and the fan caused a very minor (but detectable and somewhat annoying) vibration that I could feel in my fingertips resting on the keys. I stuck a mousepad under the fan, and this eliminated the vibration completely.
I highly recommend this fan as a close quarters, quiet desk fan.

Great little desk fan! Our first Zippi was purchased about 5 years ago for the computer desk at home and still works great. We have since purchased Zippi's for the desks of several employee's (couple of employees are always too cold to want fans). The Zippi swings up and down so it's easy to position so that papers won't fly off desks. They're small, very quiet, yet powerful enough to cool you down. The Zippi has two speeds, but it seems that low is sufficient for desk use here in our neck of the woods. The fabric fan blades are kinda cool, too. Without the usual fan grills, the entire fan is easy to clean also. FYI: It's important to understand that this is NOT a room fan. If a room fan is what you're looking for, look for something else 'cause this fan will fail miserably.
