I must admit that I purchased this fan because I thought it looked cool (and it does.) This replaced a small box style desk fan. Does this fan pump out a trememdous amount of air? No. But it is certainly adequite for a desk. Anything more and you can kiss you papers good-by. It's also very quiet, perfect if you talk on the phone much.
I think that most people who are looking for a nice personal desk fan will find this fits the bill. If you are looking for something that will really put out the air, then be prepared to put up with more noise.

This fan looks nice, is quiet, and price is pretty good. I ordered one for my desk at the office since the company is getting cheap and raising the a/c temp in the building. It's now mid to upper '70s in the office.
Low speed is fine for close quarters - within a couple feet of the fan, and the high speed really moves air for such a small fan and soft nylon blades.
After checking this one out, I gave that one to my wife for her office and ordered a second one for me.
Highly recommended.

It's perfect for a small, quiet fan that move enough air to provide personal comfort and not be annoying. It won't blow papers around on your desk, nor be distracting during conversations either in person or on the phone. They're the only fans that we've tried that won't keep my wife awake on high temp nights at home.
I've purchase 4 so far. The only negative that I've experienced with them is that the fan blades tend to slip off if the fan is pointed downwards. They're easy to put back on.

I have this on my desk at work, where I don't have to worry about my customers kids sticking their fingers in it! It moves a lot of air...I always keep it on the low setting. The other reviewers who say that this fan is not powerful seem to be missing the point that this is a "small" fan, with collapsible blades! It clearly is not meant to cool off an entire room, although it does move a small amount of air that you can feel 10 feet away. What a great fan. I purchased this fan specifically for travel. Many times we would find ourselves in hotel rooms or at a friend's home and there was nothing we could really use for the "white noise" effect. Hubby and I both like white noise when we sleep and this fits the bill perfectly.This fan is a great size for travel and is very well made. I love the soft cloth blades. It folds up for easy storage too. It's cheaper than a sleep sound generator and you get the bonus air circulation.
