Customer Review: This is the REAL genuine Vornado wick, don't buy a substitute

I have purchased non-OEM wicks made to fit the Vornado and I have purchased this item, which IS the genuine OEM wick supplied by Vornado. It has the Vornado name on the box so I know this is the OEM wick.
Trust me, stick with the genuine wick. These wick up the water better and last longer than the filters/wicks made by other companies to fit the Vornado humidifiers. I can get another 6 to 8 weeks out of a genuine Vornado filter and my water is filled with lime.
Another thing you can do with these when they start turning yellow, is soak them in vinegar for a couple hours and you can remove some of the build-up, then just reinsert them in your unit.
My only complaint with the Vornado is I cannot find them locally. I can buy Holmes and others locally, why not these.

After using other kinds of humidifiers, I finally found one that was both effective and easy to clean.
Although you can't really clean the Vornado wicks with any sort of "scrubbing", I have found these filters can stand up to a short vinegar soak and a good rinse, which I find freshens the wicks and helps cut down some of the mineral build-up.
You still should replace your wicks at least every 6 months or every season of usage. But it's a whole lot better and easier than trying to clean a humidifier with a heating element!
I would recommend the Vornado Humidifier and wicks to anyone who needs a good humidifier without a lot of extra hassle. My only real complaint is that they could be a little cheaper. It is just paper afterall!

These humidifier filters are as cheap as they get and lasts forever! We live in the Southwestern desert and our family members all have naturally dry skin so our humidifiers practically run year around (one in each bedroom, 365 nights a year). I only need to replace these filters about twice a year because, every month, I soak them in vinegar to remove the hard water deposits. This keeps the filters supple and able to absorb/output more moisture into the air. Don't buy the cheap "fakes" on eBay; get the original Vornado filters; they'll last a whole lot longer than the "fakes". One thing that stands out is that instead of the dozens of filters, wicks etc that other companies have to fit their products. Vornado humidifiers ALL take these wicks! Making sure that the consumer gets the right ones and EASILY is a great idea! These are made in the US.If ordering from Amazon, I do find it to be a good idea to watch the prices for this item on Amazon since they fluctuate up to $4.00 difference depending on when you look. What's up with that? If you're buying several packages at a time, that really adds up!

These are a great deal when they were 9.99 a pair- better than the mfg website, where you have to get on auto reorder for this price.
Better deal than eBay at the time I purchased them. Clear your Voronado gently with CLR and change these wicks twice or more
a season to prevent clogging and bacteria growth; you'll have a comfortable space.
