Tools and Hardware Reviews of Vornado VH2 Vortex HeaterCustomer Review: The little heaters that could! Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased 2 of these little heaters, and I am very satisfied so far.We live in an extra large brick fourplex apartment that is 109 years old.It is very drafty in the cold months, and has forced air gas heat. Our average winter gas bill ran around $300 per month last year.We have tried several different types of space heaters, that didn't perform nearly as efficient as the vornados do.Our room sizes are all about 17ft. x 17ft.,and these heaters really heat the whole room, well. We have not turned on the gas a single time all winter long.We use these heaters around the clock, and they just keep on working. They have saved us about $250 per month, and only raised our electric bill around $30 per month. They are very light weight,so they are easily moved to different rooms when needed. They heat up a large room within about 20 minutes.I have used the digital models before with the same results, but for the money, the VH2 heater is just as good. They work great as long as you keep them cleaned of dust buy blowing them out gently every time they start to get dusty.I found this out after the first digital vornado fried itself from too much dust accumulation after a year and a half. They have a good warranty plan for the money.Don't waste your money, buy a vornado. Thanks
Customer Review: My Second Vornado: use and love them both! Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased a Vornado VH2 heater for my art studio and have nothing but high praise for its operation. It truly heats up the entire 14 x 20-foot room (an unheated, over-the-garage studio) but also does so in an economical manner.
It is quiet and compact at 12 x 12 x 10 and has two heat settings, 1500 watts and 750. I find the lower one works wonderfully well after the room is initially heated. I also use the thermostat control so I am only adding heat and fan as needed. This first heater I bought in early 2007 and it has been running perfectly for nearly four years.
Now, I have recently purchased a second unit to use in my large sitting room/bedroom for added comfort in the evenings when I want to watch TV or read. This room, excluding a bathroom, walk-in closet and dressing/vanity area is 16 x 24 feet. The new Vornado does an outstanding job in the room, so that I don't even turn on the furnace. These are the best small electric heaters I've owned. I love the automatic shutoff should the unit tip over, the cool-touch casing and the non-glowing heat unit. Very safe, economical and efficient.
Customer Review: It pays for itself. This heater is amazing! Summary: 5 Stars
I don't live in an extremely cold climate, but we have our chilly days and it would cost me a small fortune in natural gas to heat our large home. I bought this Vornado VH2 a year and a half ago at Bed, Bath & Beyond for around $79. I use it to heat the main level of my three story home on the coldest of days. Although it is not intended to heat 1,500 square feet, it does a good job very economically. It takes about 15 minutes to get the warm air moving around enough to actually make the room feel comfortable. I especially like that it does not get hot to the touch and is safe to have around my family, without having to worry about someone getting burnt. When we need it upstairs, it's lightweight and portable. I'll most likely buy another one of these this year to keep in the basement, as it works just as well to heat the 1,000 square feet down there. No more drastic gas bills!
Customer Review: Very comforting! Summary: 5 Stars
This is the second Vornado I've purchased, and it was just great to see the updates they've incorporated and the new styling. My first one still works great but I gave it to someone to try and hasn't come back!
The enveloping circle of air works very well in my drafty house, it sits right in front of my chair, and I almost hate to get up. But when I do the room is warm too. Being in Florida we don't have effective methods to heat our house during cold days, so I use this to heat just the room I am in, and it does that extremely well, its very portable too. For when the grandchildren visit I am glad for the safety features, nothing hot for them to touch and it has the tip-over turnoff.
I will never buy another kind of heater, this one has everything I need and more.
Customer Review: Quietly keeps you warm Summary: 5 Stars
This is our fourth Vornado heater - and all four are still running. We purchased the fourth heater to use as our spare heater in our fifth wheel camper - it is 28 foot. Use the Vornado when we have access to electricity and it does a super job of keeping the camper warm. The forced air feature circulates the heat throughout the camper. Our daughter snagged one of the other heaters to keep her basement family room warm. The other two keep my husband's shop and garage warm when he is working on projects in either location.
The Vornado heater is worth the price as it is high quality, quiet running, keeps the entire room warm, and is easy on the electric bill. Won't buy another space heater as Vornado heaters last and last!
