18-Inch Resaw Woodworking
Bandsaw offers:
  • A powerful, 1-3/4 HP TEFC motor for reliable performance
  • Use with bandsaw blades ranging from 1/8 inch and 1-1/2 inches
  • A ball bearing guide system for accuracy and dependability
  • Large cast-iron handwheels for quick, accurate adjustments

Featuring a powerful 1-3/4 HP motor and a wide range of intuitive features, the JWBS-18 delivers quick, accurate cuts.
High Capacity and Large Table for Flexibility
Designed to provide you with the capabilities and flexibility you need to tackle jobs both big and small, the 710750 takes bandsaw blades sized between 1/8 inch and 1-1/2 inches to cover any application, and it offers a 12-1/4-inch depth resaw capacity for cutting large pieces of wood, slicing veneers, and trimming book-matched panels. For added flexibility, the generously sized cast-iron table measures 19 x 19 inches, which gives you plenty of work support for a variety of jobs.

Tool-Free Adjustment, Rigid Guide Post, and Rip Fence Increase Productivity
When it's time to start cutting, the tool-free guide adjustment system makes set-up quick and easy. While you're working, the rigid guide post (measuring 1.0 x 1.0 inches) keeps the blade cutting in line, and Jet's exclusive quick-release, precision T-square-style rip fence with resaw post helps you achieve the straightest, most accurate cuts.

Ball bearing Guide System, Dust Port, and Cast-Iron Wheels for Durability
To help reduce vibrations and enhance tool life, the 710750 comes complete with a ball bearing guide system that cuts down on friction, and balanced, cast iron wheels equipped with vulcanized rubber tires for easy tracking. Additionally, a four-inch diameter dust port lets you attach your dust collection system directly to where the dust is created, for a clean work surface, and a reduction of wear-and-tear causing debris.

Safety Features for Protection and Accuracy
When it comes to safety and accuracy, the 710750 offers a host of protective features that help enhance performance. First, a blade tracking adjustment window lets you view your blade position on the wheel tire. Next, a built-in cutting height scale and upper blade guide adjustment easily sets the blade guide height above the table for proper wood clearance. Finally, independently adjustable guides and support bearings positively support different blade sizes so you can use the right blade for the job.

User-Friendly Design for Easy Operation
The 710750 also boasts user-friendly operation. Large cast-iron handwheels make smooth, easy tension and upper guide adjustments, and the blade tension scale lets you select exact blade tension for widths between 1/8-inch and 1-1/2 inches. For added convenience, a single tracking adjustment knob simplifies the blade tracking process, and a lower wheel brush helps to eliminate sawdust buildup on rubber tires.

The 710750 measures 31.5 x 80 x 20.5 inches (WxHxD), weighs 450 pounds, and is covered by a five-year warranty.

About JET: A History of Sharing New, Feature-Rich Products
Opened in 1958 after the founder of the company, Leslie P. Sussman, took the first Boeing Jet Airplane trip from Seattle, Washington to Japan, JET began as a small dealer that sold air hoists and trolleys out of a single hardware store in Seattle. Over the years, JET has carried everything from snowmobiles, transmitter radios, and forklifts to nylon stockings, but by the early 1970s, metalworking had become the base of their business line. And by the 1980s, JET had expanded into the realm of woodworking. Today, you'll find that JET offers a wide range of popular woodworking tools that are backed with best-in-class features and excellent service.

What's in the Box

Tools and Hardware Reviews of JET 710750 JWBS-18X 18-Inch 1-3/4-Horsepower Resaw Woodworking Bandsaw with Roller Guides, 115/230-Volt 1-Phase

Customer Review: Jet Bandsaw 18"
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased the earlier version of this saw about 4 years ago. I use it in cabinet shop for everything - small tight curves, cutting mulitple stacked pieces, resawing small logs, etc. Considering the overall uses, the motor is well sized. For resawing of dry walnut logs (10" dia.) the motor is fine. I need to convert to 230V and use shorter cords due to the circuit breakers kicking out if the motor starts to slow down. If you plan to do serious resawing then a 3HP motor is the choice. For occaisional work 1.75HP is fine. On small work, there is no problem. 14" saws with the riser blocks cannot compete with this machine. It does take up space. I mounted mine on a rolling platform for storage when not being used. Blade tensioning is good and easy to use. I have learned to trust the indicator. Small 1/4" and 1/8" blades work fine. I have several 1.5" 1.2tpi for resawing. They are difficult to install and remove. Practice has gotten this down to 15 min. and gloves are important. Lower blade guides are hard to access and to keep clean. Tension on the ball-bearing guides is simple to adjust and blade tracking is dead on straight. You can use the factory fence. Not like a 14" saw with 5 to 10 degrees of eccentricity. Keeping the saw tuned up is important for good operation. I have learned how to keep it humming and coasting. While there are better saws on the market - ie: Laguna and their more expensive brothers, if you want a good all-purpose bandsaw - this is a good choice for less than $2K. It is even better when you compare it to a Delta with the same motor size. Final piece of wisdom - don't confuse the quality of the saw with the quality of the blade. Cheap blades can make a good machine look bad.
