This has been good buy for me. I have a Samsung fridge and had used the Samsung filters. The water and ice tasted good with the filterning system, and I was a bit apprehensive to purchase some other brand, knowing that the original filter system worked well.
I've seen no difference between the original and this filter system. It fits up just as the original does, has some lubricant for the o-rings that comes with it. I do not know if that makes a difference, other than it might help create a better seal since this is not an original filter.
Nonetheless, no leaks, and the filter works just as well. I never get six months out of my filter before the indicator light comes on. We use a lot of water and ice here. When the light does come on, maybe I jump the gun but I only leave it on purple (before it goes red) before I change it out.
Considering this is 1/3 off price wise, and how I use these filters, this has been a great buy for me. If you want to run your filter longer, I cannot tell you how well this works in comparision to the original manufacturer filter. But for me, I can tell the difference in taste of the water when the filter is at the end of life, so I like changing the filter when I do.
