This Poulan Weed Eater (Model TE475Y), 17-Inch, 25 cc, was a replacement for one that I had recently purchased from Amazon and was found to be defective. The first Poulan Weed Eater that I bought from Amazon was advertised as "Factory Reconditioned." It was not. In was inoperative and would not run. Amazon replaced the weed eater free of charge after I wrote to them and expressed my extreme unhappiness with the condition of the weed eater. The second Poulan Weed Eater (Model TE475Y), 17-Inch, 25 cc, arrived within a week and runs perfectly. Note that these Poulan Weed Eaters have a history of carburetor and idling problems based on what I have read from other reviews of the product. Also note that, per Amazon policy, these weed eaters cannot be returned because they contain combustible materials. So that means that the buyer must be sure that the weed eater can be returned if he/she buys it from some other merchant. In other words, caveat emptor. (I was lucky that Amazon agreed to provide a replacement weed eater.)
The Poulan Weed Eater is a good product if you can be sure that it will run properly. It has the power to tackle the toughest jobs and it also has an automatic line feed feature. It can be flipped by the touch of a finger to accomplish edging type chores as well. The 'TE" in the model designation stands for "Twist and Edge." The Model TE475 Poulan Weed Eater is a tad heavy and I find that I must rest at times to give my right arm a break. (I am right handed.) And I would add that I am not a weak individual. ...Hope this helps anyone who wants to purchase one.
