I purchased this unit for my commute to work using public transportation.
I have an allergy that can be aggravated by a simple cold; so I want to protect myself as much as possible when away from home and car where I have several air cleaners and ionizers. Having good air quality in public places is truly priceless.
The minute I turned the unit on, it was like experiencing a shot of cold energetic fresh air! The operative word is "energetic"; I had never experienced this kind of "vitality" from air. The novelty of this makes it as much a "fun" device.
The specs are excellent, and it's a good all around unit to have, especially when going into crowed places and public restrooms.
Forget about getting an Ipod, get this thing instead; it will change your life!
On a more serious note, although no one can promise complete protection against flu viruses, this could be one of the better preventative measures. The manufacture even states potential for protection from certain biological agents.

I have suffered from asthma for a long time. Last year I had walking pneumonia seven times. My doctors said I had to wear a masks 24/7 or leave my state of Michigan. Moving was not an option and a mask was not practical. So through a secret recommendation of a nurse. I found this device. The O-Zone can be an irritant to people with asthma (I have no problem with it). But with my circustances everything was. I did a lot of research on the company and product before I made my purchase. I am happy to say so far I have not been sick or had a bad attack since using the air supply. It's not always going to stop the asthma but it has reduced my symptoms by 75%. The minimate's opening is delicate and sensivtive to water. You can't let it get wet by one drop of rain or it shorts out you battery(rechargables).It doesn't help a lot outside because the wind can take the focus off your face. You should buy the rechageable batteries and charger. It saves a lot of money on batteries. If you are a suffer of indoor allerigies this is a great product.

When I found the original Air Supply reviewed in Good Housekeeping I knew I had to try it. I took Benadryl constantly and nasal steroids and eye drops and I STILL needed to use a thick Tuberculosis mask in order to leave my home. I couldn't think of sleeping without my electrostatic air cleaners nearby.
Once I received the AS150MM "mini Mate" I didn't need medication or a mask. I could stay overnight at a friend's house by laying the mini mate on my pillow facing me. People were all saying how nice it is to see my face and also how my eyes were no longer red and weepy. I've been using these air cleaners for 7 years and have friends that bought it because of me, they love it too.

I have used Air Supply on airplanes for 10 years. Let me clarify, I have used THE SAME Air Supply device for 10 years. It just broke this month and I am immediately replacing it, VERY satisfied with and grateful for its performance. I used to get colds from airplane flights, but I have gotten NONE since using Air Supply. One month, I didn't use it on the airplane because I got so used to being cold-free, I thought I didn't need it anymore. Wrong! I got a cold from the flight on which I did not use Air Supply. My wife has used the same model for years and it has proven to be very effective. On a recent trip to China where the air is known not to be so clean, she wore her purifier constantly and was among the few that did not get an upper respiratory ailment. After getting a very bad cold upon returning home from a recent flight, I decided to purchase a purifier for my use in an attempt to prevent similar occurrences.
Although I have not used the air purifier for that long, if it proves to be as effective for me as it has been for my wife, I will be very satisfied.
