I got one of these Westclox Travelmate Folding Alarm Clocks for college. It came with me around Europe and back again and 10 years later (I think I replaced the battery twice during that time) the snooze/light button finally broke (it still works as a clock!).
I did some research, thinking that there must be a slightly more technologically advanced alarm clock that I would prefer; however, in the end weighing increased cost and mediocre reviews I decided to go with the alarm clock I knew and could trust. I love that I can fold it up and put it in my suitcase without worrying it'll break and that it's so easy to set (though perhaps it might be nice if you could go up and down instead of just up when changing the setting) and to use. I hope this one lasts another 10 years!
*Update: A year later, this alarm clock started shifting time, oddly the time itself would be correct, but if I set the alarm for 8AM, the alarm part would reset itself, generally in the PM, and not at regular intervals (e.g., sometimes 5PM, sometimes 1PM). I contacted Acehardwareoutlet, who was very understanding and sent me a replacement. It just arrived, so here's hoping!
