Tools and Hardware Reviews of Westinghouse 03466 Nanolux 3-Watt G19 LED Bulb, WhiteCustomer Review: For the right application it is just bright enough! Summary: 3 Stars
3-watts isn't much, kind of like a full moon behind a thin cloud cover. I use it in my front porch light because incandescent or compact florescence bulb were too bright and drowed out the solar powered lights in my front yard. I also have a light on the side of the house without a timer. A 3-watt bulb runs 24 hours a day on 74 watts so I just leave it on all day. With 50,000 hours life it should run for 5.7 years.
Customer Review: OK but....... Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this bulb knowing that it wouldn't be bright enough for reading or most uses around the house and I wasn't disappointed. I finally put the bulb in the sconce outside my front door. It produces just enough light to let you see what you're doing, but the great thing is that its dim enough that it doesn't attract bugs. It uses so little energy that I feel comfortable leaving it on all the time.
Customer Review: Useful for some purposes Summary: 3 Stars
As others have mentioned, it's pretty dim. I use it to light up a dark area inside that leads to the garage. At night, it provides just enough light to see where you're going. I replaced a 10-watt compact fluorescent with this bulb, and this 3-watt LED bulb is maybe half as bright. Fortunately, the previous bulb was brighter than I needed, so now I'm benefitting from the lower energy use.
Customer Review: Dim, but useful in some places. Summary: 3 Stars
I read all the reviews and expected this bulb to be dim. I wasn't disappointed. It is very dim, but it worked where I wanted it: in my garage opener. The incandescent bulbs were burning out every few weeks, so I am very hopeful these will last longer as well as consume much less energy. They are worth the $10 I paid, but not the $29 list price. They are very dim!
Customer Review: Ambient lighting...Great. General lighting...Poor Summary: 3 Stars
These bulbs are good for ambient lighting, they are too dim to use as general lighting. They also have a definite blueish light, so if that would bother you then this is not the bulb for you.
I hadn't thought of using one of these as an appliance bulb as one other reviewer did...I think I'll get a couple more and try that.
