After a few months of using my new front load washer, I noticed an odor. I tried bleach, vinegar, and several other things without satisfaction. I put one of these tablets in my washer on the first day of every month, and I haven't noticed the odor since. Only wish they sold packages with more tablets, but the product is very easy to use and leaves an excellent smell in my HE washer. I have to wash pre-rinsed (by hand)large puppy pee-pads and didn't want to wash my own clothes after washing these pee-pads but now I'm confident my machine is clean and smells nicely! I have a new HE top load washer. It does not seem to get smelly like the front load washers do. I also have never cleaned a washer but went ahead and used the free tablet that came with the machine when the "clean washer" light came on. It cleaned the residue out of the inside of the machine well and did leave it smelling fresh.Customer Review: works perfectly!

I have used Affresh in my front loading Whirlpool washer from the very beginning. I make sure to run a clean washer cycle with Affresh as soon as the indicator light tells me it's time. I have never noticed a musty smell in my machine or on my clothes. My suggestion would be to use it regularly and BEFORE you have an odor problem.
